Yes, it could take our "centre half" into a suspension. ;)

I remember many years ago that we played an away game at Bishop Auckland and the referee was a very young Mr Rennie.

If I remember correctly, he sent off 2 Bishop Auckland players and 1 of ours, and we ran out 6-2 winners in the end.

Anyone else remember that, or did I dream it? ;) Becky and Grimmy grabbed a couple each I think.

I remember him reffing us away at Boston and we lost 4-0. I think he sent John McNally (*wozzagod) off in that match. I wanted a word wi'im in the bar after the game, but when I saw the size of him and somebody pointed out his proficiency in the arts that are martial I forgave him!

I don't remember that happening in the game, but there again I couldn't remember the correct score, so I'm not the best eye witness ;)

Lampkin came to us after Colne Dynamoes folded in August 1990, so he may have been in the team. DDevil will let us know. :)

Just love this stuff, really feel as though I've missed out, and NO I'm not being sarcastic. I'm really hoping to capture this sort of thing for the History exhibition, the journey back to the League is full of wonderful tales.

[Most times, I think it's about the journey, and not the destination, to paraphrase Tom Waits,
and other Sunday afternoon philosophers. :o]

I knew you'd come up with the goods. ;)

A few names there to conjure with. Mike Carter came with quite a reputation, if I remember correctly. He didn't stay long. ;)

Re: Chester Match

Mike Carter 17 games 6 subs 3 goals very dissapointing for a player that played over 300 games in the league
