bad news for them, but could increase our chances of being able to get toddy on a permanent deal

Rotherham's track record for getting the kind of substantial investment they need has been poor in previous crises and the situation may unfortunately prove terminal. They are also at loggerheads with the Booth family who own their ground for which they pay a not insignificant rent. They have 4 - 6 weeks to get big backing. Like Accrington a lot of Rotherham residents support the big neighbours - in their case The Wednesdays, The Blades and in some cases Leeds. Toddy is not the only person who may be in the frame. Their record appearance player Paul Hurst, a defender, would appear available. His contract is up at the end of the season and he made it pretty clear tonight that it will be the end of the road for him at Rotherham. He has gone on a month's loan to Burton. No disrespect but a player of his calibre should be in League 2 at least. Think he turned in a great performance for the Millers at FES. He's vastly experienced and may be the kind of leader and organiser Coley is after. Prior to the latest problems I think it had been mooted that he finish up with a coaching role at Rotherham. |
Re: Rotherham in Crisis
This kind of suggests careful housekeeping may be more important than a successful season for financial stability..... mind you they'd need to go into administration two or maybe three times between now and the end of the season for the 10 point rule to make any difference to us ;)
