Junior Reds

Just thinking about the number of kids that were in the Main Stand yesterday for the game set me thinking more about the Junior Reds Scheme run by the Club.:)

It is a fantastic scheme and my youngest son has benefitted for the Last Two Seasons of free admission and hopefully will again next season, just wondered what people thought of having a Family Section perhaps in the Main Stand for Next Season with the Club looking at a Family Ticket and possibly expanding the Scheme to cover
One Adult One Child
One Adult Two Children etc
Two Adults One Child
Two Adults Two Children etc
Also through the scheme offering things like discounts on taking part in the Stanley in the Community Football Schools, a day during the Season where they get the chance to go to the ground and meet the players, a couple of compettions where the prize could be a mascot for one of the games all relatively simple stuff but could lay foundations for years and generations to come!

they kinda already do all those things Pendle, although it is still in its infancy.

As far as tickets for this and that are concerned I think they would benefit hugely from just making a kid a quid and be done with. The people of Accrington need to know the price and it needs to be easy to remember. The problem with different prices is that nobody remembers them and they take up too much space on the adverts.

They did it part way through last season where they put around half a dozen different prices together on top of the existing ones and when somebody asks you how much you just scratch your head!

In previous years it has been thought the stand wasn't big enough to accomodate cheaper of free tickets to scores of schoolchildren and their families when we had enough paying supporters to fill it. You can't throw big ideas at families and the like when you don't have somewhere to accomodate them or the facilities aren't up to scratch. I would expect this situation to change dramatically if the new stand goes up as expected at the end of next season

It's not something I was suggesting for schoolchildren for differing games the idea is for a Family Season Ticket in a Family Section, which if was done with a little bit of thought before the start of the Season could be accommodated in the Main Stand, we have to be forward thinking and not just throwing obstacles in the way all the time. The only way to grow and expand is to be innovative it is fairly obvious to all that unless there is a concerted effort led by the Club into Season Tickets and clever marketing & pricing that our supporter base will be led by Season Ticket holders which should be the lifeblood of the Club.

Just as a follow up as to what we are up against Burnley have today announced as part of their Season Ticket package that all under 8's are to be offered a free season ticket & in a seperate offer families with two or more children aged 8 and over can claim one free Season Ticket for the "family stand" so long as they are under sixteen.
