Stanley Ladies win again!!
 

Just letting you all know Stanley Ladies beat Lancaster City 3-2 yesterday. Two goals from Chloe Smith and one from Brogan Cook were enough to see Stanley go 4th in the Lancashire Girls League Division Two!!

It was a great all-round performance, amid some great individual performances as well. They have excelled themselves this season really and have gone beyond all expectations and already they can't wait until next season and you never know, if we beat favourites for promotion Wigan Athletic next month, they may be playing in Division One come next season.

I know i'm biased what with being involved and all that, but I'm currently enjoying watching the girls from the bench. The standard of football that's being played at the minute is far above what I'd hoped for by this stage when Karen and I set the team up 18 months ago. But above all its fantastic to be able to watch the girls being competative and getting well stuck in, and reaping the rewards with regular wins. The icing on the cake would be if we could get something from promotion favourites Wigan Athletic and maybe hold on to 4th spot and stand an outside chance of promotion to division 1.

Oh and thanks to all those who came down to watch us on sunday, your support was very much appreciated by all the girls and really pushed them on towards the end of the game.

And finally many thanks to new Crown landlord Mo and his staff who put on a very nice pie and red cabbage at short notice.

It was a large pan containing potatoes meat carrots and water that to me is pie!!! (even if the meat was corned beef!!!):D:tongueout:D

Loving the coverage for the Ladies team on radio Lancs at the moment, seems its ladies night on the footy show. The three guests are Rachel Brown (Keeper for England & Everton), Caroline ? (striker for Blackburn Rovers) and our very own Kathrine 'Springy' Butler (Keeper for Stanley!!). Good show for exposure for the girls.
