season ticket prices .......

... wil be unveiled this week.

"Accrington Stanley are set to unveil new season ticket prices with a huge reduction next week ........ "we are hoping to give season ticket holders a lot more discount than they have had in previous seasons, than if they were paying on the gate. We are also building more benefits into the package with money off vouchers in the Stanley store and a newsletter" .......... They are also set to reveal new prices for students and schoolchildren"

more good news :).

It's like buses this week at the FES!!!!

Re: season ticket prices .......

Now that will be interesting

On a serious note I really do hope the Club get this right:)
As it really will help to shape the future for years to come and that can't be underestimated at this stage of our Football League Infancy.

On Stanley On

Just a word of caution on all those buses they all need to to go from the same pick up point and drop everybody at the same place which is the FES

done right it will give us a good base for the following year when the new stand will be up. And that needs filling!

Re: season ticket prices .......

Stanley have to come up with something as brfc and bfc have both introduced extra incentives and priceable packages. It would be very daring and interesting and experimental for stanley to come out with something ridicoulous to challenge the neighbours and even turn the thousands of blues and clarets accringtonians. 99 quid purchased before july 15th for instance and even free junior tickets also. our walkons is a high percentage of the fan base and they are a target also. Nothing a bit more or less will have an significent difference in my opinion. not being one of the 118 or being one of the 1,000 club. Its all to do with figures but at least 700 pay on the day regular. He who dares wins (maybe)

Re: season ticket prices .......

Think this could be great news for the club.
If you can get the kids now before they've experienced prem footy they are likely to be hooked and therin lies the future of Stanley!
Hope it works,it would be great to see the FES packed week in week out and with the extra revenue hopefully a little bit more money will be available for a few high quality signings!

Re: season ticket prices .......

Must be difficult knowing where to pitch the sales. On the one hand they will not want the current regular fan base all buying season tickets at knock down prices because iin real terms it will reduce the income. On the other hand they will want to get as much 'guaranteed' money as soon as possible, so will obviously want more season ticket sales.

I'm not convinced that a cheap season ticket will entice supporters to swtich clubs as suggested earlier. You may get a few doing that but nowhere near the numbers needed. The best hope is to get enough promised money to get some good signings and do well on the pitch. It's the only way the 'limbo' fans will take notice.

Haz66 21-03-2008 19:23

Re: season ticket prices .......

I`d still have to see the fixure list before i bought one as i cant make most midweek games with working away, thats why i never buy one as i miss more games than the money i save, if i could get one that didn`t include midweek match`s i`d have one every season.

Re: season ticket prices .......

although I wish the club would show a bit more respect for the fans sometimes with respect to communications etc, I don't expect loyalty to be rewarded in this manner.

We need to be more attractive for the general fan and we can't afford to give extra incentive to existing season ticket holders. But I do think that Burnley got it right when they said that any season ticket holders can have one free (or same price - Lancsdave) if they get to the Premiership.

We need to at least double the gate receipts and by halving the price we would need 4 times as many on to do that. With the new stand going up next season, it is absolutely vital that we get it right in every aspect in 08-09 in order ot hit the ground running the following season. A few key moves would set us up nicely for 09/10 IMHO

and if the club put walk on prices up even £1 expect less fans next season. brfc average 20% of population per home game bfc average 10% and stanley average 1.5%. 10% should not be a unrealistic target for stanley in the next few seasons.

Not quite sure where you get the figures from that you quote unless you are using the population of Hyndburn. Accrington's population is somewhere around 37,000 mark which IMHO means Stanley are getting about 4 to 5% not the 1.5% you quote, However, if you are talking Hyndburn, then this goes up to somewhere near 80,000 then the figure of 1.5% maybe true. As has been stated on other threads (and I am not searching for one now) Stanley have always had the problem of their bigger neighbours (this was as much the case pre '62 as it is now). Lets face it, from '62 until '06 we had either no team or a non-league team. I must admit though, where are the extra 1500 who used to watch us in the days of the Conference? Not that I am advocating returning to non-league obscurity. I want the team to push on and do something the pre 62 team never did, get promotion to League one and higher (if at all possible). We can emulate Wigan Athletic and the old Wimbledon. They never got fantastic crowds (and in the case of Wigan, I have personal experience at the old and new stadiums). I don't want miracles, but to be competetive would be nice!:D

Pedantic, but the old Stanley played in the 3rd division until relegation to the 4th in 1960 and so they did play in the equivalent of League 1. :)

Barrow were a league below us, and next to bottom. Something we've improved on over the years. ;)

We are almost in a position to announce our Season Ticket Package Prices for 2008/9, and will hopefully have details available before the end of this week. Next Season ther will be massive discounts on admission when compared to paying for games individually, and we have also worked hard to to build in even more benefits to being a season ticket holder, from discounts in the Stanley Store to special offers from our sponsors.

Our Junior Membership scheme will also be further developed, with a change of name and more activities involved, again with further details to be announced shortly. There will be a small joining fee next season however this will include admision to all matches and a free t-shirt. Also looking at the younger end of the market we will be introducing an admission charge for secondary school children & young adults in full time education, to step the jump in price from a junior to a concession rate.

Full details will be announced shortly as soon as we have everything finalised, however we are sure that everyone will agree that they represent fantastic value for money and a great way for you to show your support of Accrington Stanley Football Club!

Whilst it sounds interesting, it is not what was promised earlier in the week. Someone, somewhere stated that the prices for next season would be announced today, and quite clearly they were not. Once again the club has missed a trick and not stolen a march on B'burn and Burnley to try and steal some of their support.

After a generously offered, and quite unexpected bouquet to the Club...
The slightly mean-hearted and penny-pinching follow-up has disappointed me DM !.

Your contribution, by way of a Season Ticket purchase, whatever the projected work situation,, could just make the difference between the FES having a new Dressing Room or not !....or buying the 'giant' Defender you so fervently wish for !.....Remember, every little helps!!.

Seriously !...I echo your sentiment, it is a great move for all concerned, and one which I am sure will be seen as further developement of the Club next Season!.

My only hope is that everyone at the FES will begin to rea;ise that the Club in every aspect of it's life is a Professional Organisation, and that only the best in Management and Administration will achieve the success for which we all crave, and lead us to Division 1 !.

unless you are going to miss more than 10 matches it would be daft not to. Unfortunately I will miss more than 10 matches so won't getting one - I was hoping for the gate price to be lowered significantly to around three quid but there you go!!!!

The big success here is kids prices are now what they should be
The big success here is under 16 prices are now what they should be
The big success here is that season ticket prices are as they should be.

My only slight grumble is that concessions and on the gate prices could still be lowered a little but that would not be to detract from the rest of it. Great moves from the club.

Now we must see this offer advertised around the town. It is not enough to just put into the Observer and on the website.

LEAFLET DROP SATURDAY AFTERNOON AROUND ACCY
LEAFLETS IN CARRIER BAGS AT ASDA
LETTER SENT TO ALL SEASON TICKET HOLDERS AND EVERY JUNIOR RED ALREADY REGISTERED.

It is imperative that the message goes out if they only have four weeks with which to take advantage of these special prices.

The Junior Eagles should be an absolute winner!

7 if you are on the terrace

Re: season ticket prices .......

erm yeah. Sorry I was being lazy and went off some previous post (nother thread maybe) that mentioned a £138 price saving . In retrospect that would provide a season ticket holder who sits in the stand with that saving (I then assumed same saving based on Clayton End prices).

In answer to Jeff, correct it wouldn't make the season ticket (mainly bought by hardcore who would more than likely come anyway) look as attractive but would possibly increase the walk ons. Like I said it was only a slight grumble and the effort and pricing this year is commendable and I would hope will have a bearing on ticket sales.

We get around 750-850 of the same faces pretty much every home game. This should be the figure we are looking to get in ticket holders.

Idea to the club. In light of the hoped for higher than usual ticket holders for next season, would it be an idea to look at re-opening the turnstile at the bottom of the Crown steps? This would help to alleviate queues further round on the Car Park and folk won't have to walk as far.

Re: season ticket prices .......

I would love to get a season ticket, but if we played as many midweek/friday night games as we did this season even £207 makes it more expensive for the games which i can attend.
£207 / 23 = £9 a very good price indeed, but we played 9 games this season either on a Mon/Tue/Wed or a Fri so.
£207 / 14 = £14.78
What they should do for those of us who cant make weekday games is a season ticket of 15 games of your choose for £135. If they did i`d definately have one,

I think personalised season tickets are a product of fantasy.

I know what your saying Haz but the problem is where do you draw the line on number of games?

Maybe the feasible suggestion is perhaps for the Club to look at the Flexi Ticket option, for say 10 games & pitch it at a price in between Season Ticlet Value & Walk On Value? That could possibly work, it still generates an income for the Club upfront and could work better for people like yourself who can't get to weekday games

Yeah a flexi ticket is what i was thinking about more than a personalised ticket, as i know that would be a practical nightmare, where as a flexi ticket is a very workable idea.

When I first read the announcement that season ticket priuces were to be slashed for next season I was delighted. At last! I thought, a bit of vision from those in charge at the club.

I had visions of reductions of the scale offered by Bradford City. £150.00 top-wack for a terrace ticket, I thought. Several of my Clarets and Rovers supporting mates were talking about getting one. But no. The club haven't even got the gumption to go below the psychologically significant £200.00 barrier.

There will be an increase in the number of season tickets sold, there could hardly be fewer, but not enough of those who currently pick and choose their games are going to be tempted into buying a season ticket and going game-in, game-out.

The opportunity to play in front of decent crowds, and with it to sell additional programmes, merchandise, food and drink, has been spurned and we can all look forward to another season of having the lowest crowds in the League by a country mile.

As a Current Season Ticket Holder who takes my two kids one as a junior & one as a concession Season Ticket Holder we paid a total of £386.40

Next Season it will be £287

Nearly a £100 saving on the Terrace

If that was in the Main Stand it would have been £460

Next Season it will be £287

£173 saving

So it is going massively in the right direction:)

Same here, and with possibly more Friday night games, plus the undoubted presence of Ricky Kirby, it's still a pig in a poke.

Nice move, spoiled. :(
