sad to see david brown go. I really do think he is an intelligent football player. I dont rate Roberts very highly so i am not that bothered about him. From recent performances i would much rather have Kempson in the team than him.

Re: Two out on loan

I'm sad to see Roberts go out on loan, he has been a good solid performer for most of the season, maybe leaving for a couple of months will build his confidence back.
I sincerely hope he will be back next season though.

I feel we will lose David Brown at the end of this season, which is a shame. I think he is one of our better players, who has plenty of ball control and skill.
I think the time when Craney was injured, and Browny played for his place in midfield, in my opinion, coincided with some of our best displays this season.

Maybe I'm being too optimistic (and my usual cynical self says I am) but maybe this is a good thing. Mr Coleman wants Brown & Roberts match fit and ready to play when needed.
I mean come on, at least they aren't left languishing on the side lines like Leighton McGivern.

I cannot for the life of me understand either of these loans. David Brown is a striker who needs a run in the team. Mark Roberts has had some very soid games at the back with Webb and Kempson, however, it seems JC has fallen out with him. Good Luck lads, hope you are back at the FES for next season .

Really hope these two do come back after their loans are up but I'm not holding my breath. Poor David Brown must wonder whether it's worth unpacking his suitcase when he gets recalled cos he's usually sent packing again so couldn't blame him if he decided he's had enough and left us for good. As for Mark, the poor lads confidence seems to be at rock bottom & I hope Dino Mamria can work with him on that so he can come back and prove a point to certain people

I also feel sorry for both of the lads Browny needs to be given a chance of regular first team football here ( SAME GOE,S FOR LEIGHTON ) as for Roberts when he came here at first he was under a lot of pressure and i thought he did a great job as our back line was in tatters and he brought a bit of stability considering his age and lack of experience then two mistakes and yer gone, good luck lads see you next season i hope.

Re: Two out on loan

I fear we will see neither of them again.

I'd miss Roberts as I thought he was a very steady influence for 20 odd games. The turning point for him was when Coleman singled out him and Williams after a bad game. His confidence was gone and never played the same again.

I won't miss Brown as he has never played in the side long enough for me to form an opinion. Some people have him down as an intelligent even gifted footballer who should have had a longer run in the side but I think he has had many opportunities (though never long runs or in his preferred position) enough to prove himself but never made the position his own.

Both will do well elsewhere but beware the Coley curse lads. 3 out of 4 players who move on seem to land themselves with injuries that put them on the sidelines for months!

Re: Two out on loan

The manager has already stated his intention to make changes to the squad this summer and I can't help but feel that this is the start of that process. I can't see McEvilly or Carden returning either. So if the decks are being cleared and the newly announced season tickets sell well, who knows, maybe he's setting his stall out for new signings in early summer
