Re: New Stanley Main Sponsors

Oh dear, that strip looks rubbish. I hope it was just a bit of paper pasted over Hynburn Borough Council and that they will be putting a little more thought into it before it goes on sale!

Re: New Stanley Main Sponsors

That really doesn't look very good. Mullers don't look too hapy wearing it as well!

Re: New Stanley Main Sponsors

I thought the company was going to be a nationally known one? Anyway their sponsorship is welcome but the change certainly doesnt warrant another 70 quid next season...

And a change of avatar as well Jimbo - got to agree, doesn't look too clever though

Re: New Stanley Main Sponsors

Maybe they could just give us all a velcro strip to cover the HBC logo for now like the one Mully seems to have on his shirt. Then when we change the shirt we can have a decent logo printed on it!!

Re: New Stanley Main Sponsors

The Ossy Mills logo is all about their traditional values, so it's an ideal opportunity for the Stanley brand to confirm its own traditions and history in parallel with its major sponsor.

Pehaps a new "retro" look in the Accrington Stanley lettering and signage wouldn't go amiss (after all, the various signs relating to ASFC around the outside of the ground are a bit of a hotch-potch).

We've all seen how successful this has been for many companies, including Holland's Pies.

Remember , Progress doesn't have to look Modern.

Plenty of time for the artists and designers of the town to put their ideas forward before next season, but the time is certainly right for a re-branding of Accrington Stanley which emphasises its roots, traditions and values.

So, am I going to be the only person buying one, then?

loweiy 15-04-2004 15:10

Re: New Stanley Main Sponsors

no lots of us will buy them just because we can and we want to

rob 15-04-2004 15:16

Re: New Stanley Main Sponsors

the new ossy mills logo for the shirts has yet to be confirmed, and may well look considerably different to the shirt used for the photo shoot this morning... full details of when the new shirt will be on sale will appear on the official stanley website!

Whatever it eventually looks like, I'll be buying a home and away one, and hopefully plenty more will, as loweiy says.

Re: New Stanley Main Sponsors

We may get more money with the sponsership deal, but something tells me shirt sales will go down.

lindsay ormerod 15-04-2004 17:54

Re: New Stanley Main Sponsors

Why don't we all reserve our judgement till we see the finished article? As Rob says it may look very different to the mock up one in the photo!I suspect is wasn't the shirt making Mully look unhappy...more likely the herds of screaming kids rampaging thru the Mills!
Well dnoe to Stanley for securing a local deal! :)

Don't bother me... never wear them.... polo shirts for me every time :)

Hiya Lindsay, they usually walk the kids up to the Crown at about 2 o'clock for the penalty shoot out & it's usually about 2.30 - 3 when they get their trophies.
