Cav on his way back

Was good to see Cav play for first half in the reserve match against Morecambe today :) .... although the result wasn't too good unfortunately :(

It said that we'd be fielding a strong team, so who played? Can anyone shed any light on the team please?

Grant
Turner

Subs: Fearon, Chapman, Riley, Ami, Strode.

Morecambe:

Jalal
Langford
Wisdom
Davies
Grand
Sorvel
Lloyd
McLachlin
Twiss
Allan
Banks

Subs: Jarvis, Kelly, Taylor, Bell.

Re: Cav on his way back

4 of our team that started have not played in the League this season and 1 of those was an Academy lad.

Jalal will probably not be retained along with Sorevell, Lloyd and Allan. McLachlan is coming back from a broken leg, whilst Twissy is out of favour at the moment.

Sub goalkeeper Kelly is the grandson of Alan Kelly ex PNE and son of our Academy Director himself an ex PNE goalkeeper.

Any ideas who scored?

Best of luck for remainder of the season.

Yeah used to ring a bell with a bespectacled lady at Maine Road.

I know, but I saw him with my own peepers (and it was Kipax who told me who he was) :)

Apparently he is only looking over the establishment and in talks with EW etc. So its still up in the air as to whether he does or does not become reserve team manager.

He must be absolutely tiny!!! Even Coleman is bigger than him!

Well I am right excited!!
Cav is an injury jinxed average player a crock! too slow!too small!
Don't think he should be in team for friday hope coleman doesn't try to accomodate his mates again.:dummy2:

You've got it right there. Another good Conference player, like prima donna Craney, but just not good enough at this level. Who's going to lose out to accommodate another of Coleman's love children?

Craney is a good player and cav! at this level like all the players we have now stop gettingon the players back and support them 110% tonight and every night

You'll soon be telling us Shaun Whalley's the new George Best. The team have really rocketed up the league since Craney's return, haven't they? Someone has to get on their backs because the 'Football Genius' certainly doesn't seem to be filling them with inspiration.

Re: Cav on his way back

Have to say that I was hoping Cav would not be picked for Friday's game. After so long out and only half a game with Reserves it seemed to be too early to recall him but he had a great game. He looked good, had pace, tackled well and lasted the whole game. Proved me wrong , every credit Cav!

Re: Cav on his way back

Cav is what the defence has been missing and he gives us an extra option down the flanks with his runs

I agree. Im not Cav's biggest fan but think he slotted in seamlessley on Friday night. Good to see Bobby start too. :)

i thought cav had a good game tooooooo things are looking bright just shows he is a pivotal part of the team when he is fully fit..

Re: Cav on his way back

I confess I groaned when I saw his name on the sheet. I appreciate his attacking and captaining ability but 45 mins in 4 1/2 months wasn't enough for me. Had a good game though and didn't seem to be flagging.

Welcome back Cap'n Cav

I think Andy Todd had one of his better games on Friday night, possibly something to do with Cav being behind him, supporting him and playing him through. I am not one of Cav's biggest fans but think he had a good game on Friday.

Me too, Jeff. Was amazed how fit he appeared to be, so he must have really been putting the work in during his recovery from injury. When he plays like that he really lifts the team, though you always have concerns about his defensive covering abilities.
