I suppose this is an appropriate thread for this. Those too young to remember 'Lily the Pink' aka 'Coley the King' might like to see the Scaffold's original at BBC iPlayer - Pop Go the Sixties!. Available for 5 more days! It starts after the BBC4 logo.

That took me back, they were a bit more raucous live when I saw them at Liverpool Phil, same bill as the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band. They joined together, after a mock fight, to sing Lily the Pink, with the great Viv Stanshall making up verses, then everybody did Urban Spaceman, which was also in the charts at the time.

It hadn't occured to me this was new to some people. :)

And it didn't occur to me either Oggy!...but then I can remember being introduced to R & B by listening to The Dominoes (with Clyde McPhatter !) in 1951 !!. belting out 'Sixty Minute Man' !.

Which perhaps explains the dilemma in which we find ourselves......
Are we getting a bit long in t'Tooth do you think??

ROCK ON THE REDS !!!!!!!!

Can J.C. learn something from t'Dominoes ??...A method of ensuring a measure of self-control on a Saturday afternoon maybe ??

(Quote from Alan Freed!) 'Sixty Minute Man'.. on which Bill Brown sang lead, and boasted of being able to satisfy his girls with fifteen minutes each of "kissin'" "teasin'" and "squeezin'", before "blowin'" his "top".

could read..' 'Ninety Minute Man'...where J.C and took the lead and satisfied the Ref and the Fans with at least fifteen minutes each of 'kissin' 'teasin' and squeezin'...before blowin' HIS top !.( just as long as he doesn't kiss me!!).

Love and Respect returns to the FES man !!!..

48 Points, and not a relegation spot in sight!!!.

'What me worry?'...Not when I've got Alfred.E. back I don't!
