Aww, always seems daunting at 1st but you'll be fine - we're a friendly lot up at the FES. 1st u need to decide whether u want to sit for 90mins or braver standing - tho with him being a youngster may get tired standing lol, so maybe going into the stand [seeting] area, as u walk upto the club its the 1st set of turnstiles near club shop for main stand or further up round the back for clayton end - best to ask any of the stewards whom will gladly help you where u are to go, but want to go to the club shop 1st to get your lad a free admittance ticket for the main stand or clayton end terrace if standing, theres a board outside directing the clubshop or again ask one of the stewards if unsure at the entrance to the club, in luminous jackets, or follow & ask any stanley supporters on your way whom are friendly enough.
Depending which of either seating or standing post on here as someone from here will be in either or whom could meet ya & show u the ropes, im sure your lad will enjoy it:D |
Re: New to football.
take kid on terrace because he will become bored sat down for nearly 2 hours . like mine he will make a bee line for food . he should enjoy it but will enjoy it more if he has a scarf . make him feel part of it all and be able to show his mates ect..

Re: New to football.
I would agree with that. If your stood up there's a lot more chance to move about and the atmosphere in the Clayton End is far more entertaining than in the stand. Of course it depends what your kid is like - I've two kid brothers - one likes to stand the other prefers to sit - so one of them's alway grumpy! Clayton End wins every time for me.

Re: New to football.
The first time i went i rang the club beforehand to reserve 4 tickets, well i didn`t realise that clubs still took money on the gate, that was against Canvey Island in the 2nd Conference season, we won 1-0, i`ve been going ever since as i just loved the atmosphere and the whole feeling surrounding the club, its been a rollercoaster ride but i`ve loved every minute of it.
