Website Player Of The Year?
What does anyone think about having a website player of the year award this season. We did this for a few seasons but for one reason or another it didn't happen last year. I though seeing as how we're having an official presentation evening this year, we could revive it. This will also give anyone a chance to vote if they weren't able to yesterday. If anyone wants to vote for their choice of player for this award, they can post it in this thread.
Deadline for votes is Thursday 1st May and if I don't have enough time to sort out a trophy and get it engraved, I thought maybe I could get a bottle of champagne for the winner. |

Re: Website Player Of The Year?
Good idea, think we used to give a brief reason why as well, e.g. Evil - he likes champagne with his pies.

Yes you're right Oggy, if people want to give a reason they can but don't really need to, I think the only 'rule' needs to be is that it's just one vote per person. |
Re: Website Player Of The Year?
Are you only allowing the same players as in the paper voting or is it any player.

|
Re: Website Player Of The Year?
For his industry and effort, never give up attitude its Paul Mullin for me.
|
Re: Website Player Of The Year?
The one lad who has given 100% plus every game he's played since his return from injury last year- Andy Proctor.
|
Re: Website Player Of The Year?
McEviley, he's done well playing for other teams and I hope he carries on doing so
|
Re: Website Player Of The Year?
Graham Branch, for giving hope any other can't be ar$ed 30-somethings out there looking for one last payday.
|
Re: Website Player Of The Year?
Roscoe D'Sane, for being the best strike partner Paul Mullin ever had this season and for scoring some vital goals
|
Re: Website Player Of The Year?
I`ll also go for Roscoe D`Sane, i thought he was a quality player, but if he doesn`t count i`ll have to stick with Paul Mullin.
|
Re: Website Player Of The Year?
Jay Harris For Me. Works 110% every game and thats what stands out above all the other players this season. Not a good season so hard choice.
|
Re: Website Player Of The Year?

Re: Website Player Of The Year?
Mark Roberts. A fine player who was not given a fair chance. (Sadly, not the only one in this category)
|
Re: Website Player Of The Year?
For his valiant efforts of late, Phil Edwards
|
Re: Website Player Of The Year?

|
Re: Website Player Of The Year?
Fair enough - In that case my second vote will go to Kenny Arthur, only because he has kept us in games when we didn't deserve to be in them
|
Re: Website Player Of The Year?
I can't, once again look beyond [Paul Mullin, who has tried and tried and tried and tried and tried and tried WITH LITTLE SUPPORT to lead the Strike-Force (?) to success, and to win
games for the Reds PAUL MULLIN !!! who has tried and......................... |
Re: Website Player Of The Year?
I'll go for Leam Richardson... think its a brill idea accymad and must try and remember for next year so we can arrange a trophy if this years presentation night is a success
|
Re: Website Player Of The Year?
Leam Richardson for me as well please, in a season of few highlights his cross for Procky, his exquisite chip for Aswad, which both created goals, and his goal against Brentford stand out for me, plus his attitude and love of liners. ;)
|
Re: Website Player Of The Year?
Kenny Arthur...if he hadn't been injured, I reckon we would be comfortably mid-table by now...and if he hadn't returned when he did, I believe that our goal difference would be even worse and we would be deep in relegation trouble.
|
Re: Website Player Of The Year?
Paul Mullin, Mr 100%. But could have been Mark Roberts, on his early season form.
|
Re: Website Player Of The Year?
Paul Mullin:alright:
|
Re: Website Player Of The Year?
Kenny and Leam deserve all the praise they're getting but for sheer effort my vote goes to Paul Mullin.
|
Re: Website Player Of The Year?

As the winners of our various player of the year awards generally leave soon after, I would have thought the more people that vote for Branch, the better...

And while your at it you can put him down for next seasons award as well please. |
Re: Website Player Of The Year?
Jay Harris for me always puts in top effort 110% every game
|
Re: Website Player Of The Year?
Thought long and hard and when we signed Mannix back I thought he would have walked this category.......but for reasons unknown he has been in and out of the side.
Therefore my vote is for Kenny, just for being consistent even if he cant kick ( ha ha) |
Re: Website Player Of The Year?
