Altrincham in new record

Alty are away at just about safe Weymouth tomorrow. They MUST win in order to avoid being relegated for the 36th year running! (well it seems that way as surely no team has ever been 'relegated' as often as they have only to be reprieved cos someone goes belly up)

You can bet if they do get relegated they'll find some obscure way to say it's Stanley's fault :)

Altrincham could still preserve their record if they win and Halifax lose. Halifax would then be relegated after suffering a 10 point reduction, with Alty remaining in the Conference yet again because of a technicality.

Alty drew and were relegated today. Just waiting to see what technicalities arise to save them again. ;)

If rotherham go out of buisiness the that would be the technicality they need. only one team relegated from L2 so they stay up to make up the numbers yet again.

Re: Altrincham in new record

From Bulls News:
Halifax Town are braced for expulsion from the Conference, just two years after missing out on promotion to the Football League.
The club have been set a deadline by the Conference committee of May 10th to settle their ownership issues and deal with creditors, with current losses estimated at up to £30,000 a month. Even the Adminstrator of the club admits the date is 'a big ask'.
The proposed owners, and only bidders, are offering to sustain the club whilst they strive for profitability - but have offered only 2.5p in the pound for existing creditors for a CVA. The taxman is owed a sufficiently large figure to be able to scupper any CVA offering almost on their own and with a massive creditors list a failure of any deal is very likely without the taxman's approval.

I take it this could save Alty. :ohmy8:

Jeez on the day that Rotherham have got an approved bid it looks like Alty could be saved by another Yorkshire team. They must have an indian sign hanging over them
