Food for Thought

If Rotherham fold this week and drop out of the league, what happens next year.

Do three come up or is that one only goes down.

Re: Food for Thought

Only one goes down, which means that one less would go down from the Blue Square, which means that the Alty posh boys would be reprieved AGAIN. However, I sincerely hope it doesn't come to that. Rotherham are a top notch set of fans - had a great laugh with the ones I was talking to in the pub opposite Rotherham station.

They shuffle the Midlands clubs around until both divisions have an even number of teams.

I don't get this, Wrexham are relegated if Rotherham go under then Mansfield survive but how does that affect Alty???

Re: Food for Thought

Because if Rotherham fold, only one team, Wrexham, go down to the Blue Square. However, two will still come up to the league from the Blue Square (Aldershot and the play-off winners). Therefore, the Blue Square will be one club short. The bottom four in the Blue Square are due to be relegated to Blue Square North/South. But, as the Blue Square National is one club short, the top one of those bottom four (Alty) will be reprieved.

Succinctly put Wyn....but now Alfred.E's really WORRIED, because Sky Sport's just reported that Rotherham have a new 'owner'...and he just can't work out the logistics regarding the numbers relating to the loss of revenue at Alty due to a decrease in sales of Pie and Peas in the Catering areas!....

Do you have any figures for this?????.....

Keep on a Rockin...and baffling us all with your perspicacity !!

Re: Food for Thought

Pie and peas, Yon Mon? They wouldn't have owt so common in Alty! Sun-dried aubergines and rocket salad drizzled with essence of caviar is probably the order of the day at the Moss Rose!

Re: Food for Thought

Moss Rose is Macclesfield Wynonie! Alty is Moss Lane.

Quite right, Oldgobbin, I've not been there for so long (ever since that cushy 1-0 win at the start of our championship-winning season, in fact) that I'd forgotten!
