Back on track, Edwards was sent ofr being last man according to my non legal source, however UKCowboy has given us the official jargon ' Delibarately preventing a goalscoring opportunity ' :)

Mainly (or was) made up of retired people and weekend homes for Wellington business people. A beaut but tricky golfcourse (hated the 9th).

I know that experiance well.
The SPORTAL fantasy league is better than the one we play on here. You get put in a league with 19 others and 'play' each other twice. You could win a game say 121 to 97. You get 3 points for a win and 1 for a draw.Think we'll start a league on here for next season. Will let you know.

It was his first touch, I would call it an assist. He couldn't have played the pass, more perfectly if he was a Liverpool player.

Jay Harris had a brilliant game, Bobby Grant was also on form tonight.:)
I particularly enjoyed Toddy running at and passing the Liverpool defence on a regular basis, he played like it was last season. :)
Also their goalie was excellent.

Eh? I thought Grant had a poor game and never threatened their defence where it hurts. McGivern made more impact in his 15 minutes or whatever it was than any other attacker, apart from Toddy maybe. Some good players on show for 'Pool, who deserved their win, although if Proccy had blasted his penalty home it might have been a different story. Was Harwood Red trying to recruit their goalie at the end?;)

When I was leaving, the Liverpool players were just getting on their coach, still in their kit, boots and all. Apperantly that's how they arrived!!!:o
Obviously they must have looked at our messageboard, and saw the posts about our changing rooms and showers.:o

Bobby Grant put a quite few excellent crosses in the box, and wasn't afraid to get stuck in.

Well same old same old but wasn't expecting much anyway, despite the small attendance it was quite lively in the crowd, plenty of noise even without the ultras:p

As for the footy well it was a game of 2 types ya league 2 & your premier league wannabee swimmers that no 9 lol. They had a good goalie, making all his saves & with good humour, he got a good reception. Proccy should of scored a sitter & branchy shouldnt of come on he probably got the colour of the shirts mixed up as we were in our away strip

Nice to see the wanderer return eh dougie:p:D

Re: Tonight v Liverpool

aaahhhhemmm.. me recruiting goalie?? only to join us on loan if we lost arthur in the closed season :D

The plus of tonight is we saw all the action both halves, unfortunately everytime liverpool went down other end in second half they scored!!!

It was a cracking save for proccies penalty although weaker than his usually penalty shots.. we congratulated the keeper and he clapped us back and came and shook hands at end of match with the fans... and yes I finally did get his name .... Dean Bouzanis, funny he hails from aussie but couldn't disguise his scouse accent :p he caught that quick

I enjoyed the banter tonight, even the ref had a good laugh at a few of the shouts

kick him out now please. Except that the rumour doing the rounds tonight was that he has just signed another years contract.

Sat near him Oggy!...Didnt make much sense what he was shouting to his lads....who didn't take much notice of him anyway....LOST it when Mark King picked up his yellow !...Knows all the words that Coley knows...and used them!...warned by the Referee !!...Not much of a player...even less of a Manager!!....

Of course that's only my opinion!!!....

But Paul Mullin played some delightful lay-offs tonight....as good as ever he was!!.....and their Aussie Goalkeeper really was good!!.

Did Leighton McGivern do enough to deserve a start against Bury??
That we shall have to wait to see!

There's another good reason not to buy a season ticket;)

When Everton bought him from Liverpool the blue half of the city was totally embarassed.
Heard one red say to his blue mate, "Believe Gary's looking sharp in training." Still makes me smile.

Macca, if that rumour's true about Branch, I'm taking a year out as well. :(

Re: Tonight v Liverpool

I was disappointed with King as well because I try to bang the drum about why is he not starting. Maybe he just can't be arsed trying anymmore? McGivern gave it a go though for the ten minutes he was on. Disgusting really.

Re: Tonight v Liverpool

king played like a schoolboy , not up to job at all . liverpool wanted it more then us . when defending they had 11 players facing the ball . naff crowd but game not advertised in telegraph . why couldnt they charge every 1 say £2 , mite have got a few more in . I took my sons mates along , they enjoyed going to a live match but got peeved at stewards telling them off for walking round ground ect .. jobs worth . try to increase attendance and this is what you get . my lad enjoys himself and gets moaned at but has to listen to kids bit older then himself swearing like a old pro stood behind him .

agree with your comments and to answer the above, YES he should start against Bury as should Toddy, he looked like the Toddy of old last night.
Craney looked peeved when he was replaced early doors as well. There goalie played a blinder.

Suprised no one has mentioned the fact that the ref played in a black strip last night when in reality, they should all have been playing in dayglo green or yellow. I think that is why Branchy got confused as did some of the other players, strip was too much like our away strip.

Seems more than "Branchy" needs to go to specsavers, both Mr Coleman & Bell where in attendance.

He wasn't passing to the ref, he was passing to anyone in red, for a change, and of course it wasn't his fault. :signntme:

And so they should have done Oggy!!...They get quality coaching everyday in the best of Soccer environments !, and were they all youngsters or a collection of some of the very best prospects from Eorope, South America and Australasia ?.
Whoever they were, the passing and general organisation had to be admired !
and all of their goals, particularly the second were excellently taken.

A good warm-up for 'the Shakers??'
