Lee

Scored the two goals last night that will probably get Cambridge promoted.

Re: Lee

At least they were against Burton and that will hopefully go some way to stopping them being promoted

I would have thought Burton would have been the choice of Stanley fans for who they want to come up. Less travelling and the possibility of bringing more fans to the FES than the other teams. Plus the away match could have thrown in a tour or two of the local industry :D

Me too, used to love stopping in Burton overnight, never much work done the day after though :)

Burton for me too, who could resist the chance to renew old rivalries (from the Unibond) especially now Hereford have buggered off?

Re: Lee

I still wonder how things would have turned out if Mullin had been sold to Shrewsbury and McEvilly had come back to us as our main striker.

The main difference between us and Bury today was that they have a proven goalscorer who takes chances. We had several clear cut chances today and took none of them.

Wouldn't have made any difference, except we probably would have ended up further down the league. McEvilly is not the answer to our problems, leave him where he is

Boco has left. Quite a while ago.

Wasn't really good enough anyway. Didn't score enough. Missed too many sitters.

And won't. Will probably be released.

D'Sane and McGivern showed a little of what we need from a striker, but neither is the full article by any stretch of the imagination. Ideally of course we need an Aaron McLean - but that isn't going to happen. Our best bet is Shaun Whalley for the time being until we can be lucky enough to stumble across the next superstar from Vauxhall Motors or Prescott Cables. Becuase without at least 100k to spend on the kind of player we need, we ain't getting one.

As for McEvilly, I refer you to my post from back in November...

Hypothetically, even if he scores several hat tricks for Rochdale, after which Coley would bring him back, his first game back for us he would score three own goals, kick the ref in the tooth and spit on a cripple in the crowd.
He is useless for our club.

Apparently, it was a rebound from Evil's shot after 30 seconds that led to United's first goal in the second replay.

Evil did however show his true colours later on in last nights game when he blasted the ref over summat and nowt and got booked for it. approximately 2 mins after this he got subbed!!!! At least Jimmy Quinn knows how to deal with him when he starts to go!!!
