Wish List ???
Released by Norwich City and Huddersfield town respectively...
Frank Sinclair....our 'BIG' Defender ? Darren Huckerby...the 'perfect foil' for Paul Mullin ?... Well I can dream...can't I ???. What me worry...? |
Re: Wish List ???
Apparently Garry Thompson is 'unsettled' at Morecambe and I'd love to see him at the FES. However, I think he'll go to a League 1 club, as he's said in the past that he wants to play at a higher level.
|
Re: Wish List ???
Darren Huckerby/Paul Dickov:alright:
|
Re: Wish List ???
I wish he'd got rid of Craney .
|
Re: Wish List ???
why hes a good player he signed 3 year contract! he b in good form next season anyway
|
Re: Wish List ???
Craney was a good player, he hasn`t shown any interest since his return, or maybe he`s just not been fit, but he`s had plenty of time to get fit, but i`ll reserve full judgement until next season:)

As for paying for players, it's not going to happen as there's no money. Any players we sign now will have to be on free transfers/released. |

still regretting we didn't persevere with Stuart Fleetwood.
|
Re: Wish List ???
There was nothing to persevre with, he wasn't our player
|
Re: Wish List ???
could have been though. Left his loan spell early after two or three indifferent games, but if we had persevered with him the odds are that he would have come to us when Hereford let him go
|

Re: Wish List ???
with southport failing to bounce back into the conference, they have 2 players who quite a few conference clubs plus chester, bury and macclesfield are looking at
Tony Gray - striker Liam Blakeman - midfield |

Re: Wish List ???
Quote:
I can confirm that neither Michael Twiss or Carl Baker have been released ! They are both on 3 year contracts that run until June 2010. We have released 5 players so far:- Jon Newby striker Damian Allan Midfield Neil Sorvel Midfield Jamie Burns left back/left midfield Simon Grand centre back |
Re: Wish List ???
chester releasing Shaun Hessey is sure to have Coley interested.
|
Re: Wish List ???
A decent defence !!! ;)
|
Re: Wish List ???
peter thorn up front for a season and that liverpool keeper from cup game which no one bothered to go to or that lincoln keeper
|
Re: Wish List ???
Quote:
To which I would add ........ Duo released by Bulls Fri 16 May 2008 Manager Graham Turner has released goalkeeper Michael Ingham and defender John McCombe following Hereford's promotion. JOHN McCOMBE !...not a bad lad to have at the back !! |

Re: Wish List ???
I'd be very surprised if John wasn't looking at McCombe - just remember that he tracks players for years before finally signing them!

Re: Wish List ???
lol names like mark king n david mannix spring to mind would of been class if we kept them for next season give them time to settle in get to know how we play etc
|
Re: Wish List ???
king looked school boy standard but we should have bought a striker instead of craney and played maddix

Re: Wish List ???
:rofl38: TM, how hard is mannix in Dm's terms - erm very:p:D
|
Re: Wish List ???
my wish list would be for a home match for the first game of the season and hopefully a biggie to get the crowds in
secondly I want to get some points on the board early doors to see if it does affect crowds by any real amount. thirdly I want a run in the FA Cup and to draw a good team in the third round, The League Cup is no good because even Nottingham Forest were'nt deemed a good draw by the people of Accy. We need a big gun to pull our first sell out - I'd love to see black market tickets for Stanley! |
Re: Wish List ???
i'd love to see stanley all over the back pages! mullin powers stanley to fa cup final victory over a united! think of the money from that than we would be able to get some good players in, to add to our own good players and pay them good wages
|
Re: Wish List ???
players such as king and mannix can easily be replaced.
coley sees them every day - he is the best judge. Nicky Wroe of York City would be a good addition in midfield. As he is now transfer listed, no reason why we cant pick him up. Chris Flynn of stafford rangers would do a job in league 2 and is available. |

And not forgetting a little bit of consideration from the FA when they get round to deciding the fixtures for Boxing Day and New Years Day !.....Blundell Park is somehow NOT the place to spend a Festive occasion, (always something 'fishy' about the plaice!).http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/i...cons/icon6.gif So if Mr Barwick and his 'lesser-lights' are listening :-'The Shakers' at home on December 26th would seem to offer an ideal option and a potential Soccerfest for both Clubs and their supporters !. You can observe a lot by watching......(Alfred.E.)http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/i...ons/icon12.gif |
Re: Wish List ???
and whatever Derby game is assigned should always be a Boxing Day/New Years Eve double header. The chance to make instant amends always guarantees crowds.
In general I think the FA should be a lot more attentive when it comes to lower league fixture setting. Last year when we had Grimsby away Bury got Mansfield. It seems to me that fixture could have been better for both club had it been the other way around. |
Re: Wish List ???
isnt it funny , not long ago you lot where screaming to give MANNIX a run now its how easy to replace him

Re: Wish List ???
:)Folks sorry to be boring but here goes;
In case anybody has forgot; WE ARE FOOTBALL LEAGUE!!! If you want local derby's at Christmas re-join the non-league. In general FL clubs do not want local derby's as the local plod take a great interest. Double bubble, 5 hours guaranteed!!! Grimsby v Accy police free, Grimsby v Lincoln, ploiced BUT at normal rates!! We play Bradford and we have last season's only policed match, and guess what it double time for all the gathered law enforcers. So sorry, if we play Chesterfield on Boxing or New Years Day, I guess it will be police free, and when Bradford bring their hordes in October we'll be so well organised it will be another FES policce free game, thus saving OUR club thousands!!!:) |
Re: Wish List ???
I might have got this wrong, if I have I do apologise but my understanding in a nutshell is:
Boxing Day against Bury with perhaps 3000+ on we don't want! But Boxing Day against Dagenham with 1600 will do:confused: |

Re: Wish List ???
Pendle Red, you miss my point;
v Bradford there were 1480 home fans, the previous home match was v Shrewsbury with 1057 home fans. 30% up. The view is that no matter who you play at home Boxing Day/ New Year the home fans will turn out. So then save the derby/ local games for Feb or November when gates are lower and clubs should get the benefit of 2 higher gates. Then add in the police cost factor, and in London a noon or 1pm kick off for bank holiday games which leads to the general view of no FL derby's at the bank holiday's |

Re: Wish List ???
I understand what SR is saying about derby games but IMHO I dont want to travel far on boxing day or new years day. 15 mile down the road for one and vice versa is fine for me! On an occasion it needs to be an occasion - Grimsby home or away is no occasion and I for one don't mind missing them if I have to.
|
Re: Wish List ???
Darlington have released Michael Cummins - good player.
|
Re: Wish List ???
To which I could add...J.J.Okocha....Surplus to requirements at Hull City !!
Might end up with the 'oldest' Strikeforce in the Football League !! |
Re: Wish List ???
A tentative addition to my WISH LIST ??.......
'Reported today is that Town striker Luke Beckett could be still on his way to York City despite the North Yorkshire club failing to agree terms with Town.' Seems like Huddersfield Town are slipping-up slightly in releasing Luke Beckett. He was their top scorer with 12 goals last season...and his goal ended the Red's brief brush with the FA Cup !!....A real 100-per-center !! Most of all...That shower at the Kit-Kat don't deserve a striker of Luke's stature ! Could he be the answer to Stanley's need for someone to play alongside Paul Mullin ?? |
