Why on ebay , though ?

Surely it could have been auctioned more locally for a suitably good cause ; many businessmen would have bid against each other and kept it in the area.

A lost opportunity for some valuable Public Relations for Stanley I'm afraid.

Re: Signed Stanley interview backdrop

Selling on ebay opens the sale up to a worldwide (Including local) audience of fans and collectors and as such will probably bring in more money than going local only.. A good move to maximise revinue I would have thought :)

Re: Signed Stanley interview backdrop

we do our bit for local causes wherever we can henry, with donations of balls and tickets to auction and raffle off. the odd ebay auction for the club adds a bit of interest and as kipax says, opens it up to the whole world...

I think its a good idea putting things on ebay, what about some players shirts etc, i'm sure it would help raise much needed revenue for the club. :)

- - - well, you see, it was like this. There was I on a quiet Sunday afternoon waiting for me dinner and laughing at the banter 'tween Kippax 'n Shurm. Auction seemed to have run out of steam and I thought they'll not buy many rivets for 't new stand roof with that. Lets tickle 'em up thinks I and, still waiting for me dinner - idle hands 'n all that, proceeds to up the ante a touch. Forgot all about it, after all Kippax was talking a brilliant game. Home from the office tonight, and still waiting for me dinner, I wonder if anyone has emailed and was stunned to see that nobody had lived with my bid ! So I am the proud owner of Team Accrington autographs. Don't know where I'm going to put it 'cos her who cooks me dinners (well, used to ) has banished me to the shed. Happy days - cheers, lads 'n lasses, Alan

P.S. - hasn't the conference been brilliant this season ? ( ref's apart ).
