Everybody seems to rate Carden. What went wrong with us?

He also got injured towards the end of preseason and never really regained enough fitness. He played in most of the preseason games before he got the injury (ankle?) which kept him out for at least a couple of months, by which time Proccy was scoring screamers!!!We sent him to Cambridge to get fit, then Craney came back so it was probably seen as best to let him continue to gain fitness and get games at Cabridge and to bring him back into the fold for next season. However I wouldn't be suprised if the words released by mutual consent come out in the next few months.

After watching quite a bit of the Blue Square Premier these past few months including todays final, I am still of the mind that Paul Carden should be brought back to Stanley he could play a pivotal role in midfield as he has for Cambridge in midfield no frills, breaks thing up, good distributor of the ball and pulls the strings something we lacked for a big chunk of last season!
So go on Coley!
Give him another go;)

I remember seeing him get injured at Squires Gate last pre-season and he hardly showed again for us. He's certainly at least as good as Mannix was last season, so why he didn't get a chance is anyone's guess.

He should definitely be brought back for this coming pre-season. That's if he wants to come back here.

if we made such efforts to sign him, how come he stars for cambridge while we are stuck with mannix, harris, procter etc

if money is on the table for Carden then we'll take it, if someone just wants to take him off our hands then we will keep him.

For whatever reason Coley didn't fancy him last year and this year will probably be no different. I suspect that he and Miles were the main ones that Eric meant when he said 'if some weren't on contracts then they would have gone too'

According to BBC Radio Cambridge, Paul almost single-handedly turned the semi-final play-off against Burton. And he won almost as much praise from them in yesterday's match at Wembley.
