No Sign
Only just noticed yesterday after coming back from work up the M6 then onto the M65 that when you approach Blackburn there is a large brown/white sign saying Ewood Park and there`s also one for Turf Moor, no wonder we are not getting any fans as there isn`t one for Accrington, so people will be thinking we`ve disappeared and will end up going to watch Burnley or Blackburn instead :D.
But on a serious note who do you need to slip a backhander to to get a sign to the ground on the M65. Maybe we should lobby for one. |
Re: No Sign
You're right, there aren't any.
Perhaps have a word with Oswaldtwistle Mills, and see who they bribed, because there are tons of signs to that place.;) |
Re: No Sign
Not 100% sure but think it is a Department of Transport matter for signs to be placed on a motorway and local roads are County Council.

Re: No Sign
It's all done through County and as it happens I have the name of the person to talk to.
The club would need to apply and then their visitor numbers get assessed - they have to justify the number of attendees that they get. Then if permission is granted the club would have to pay County for making the sign and putting it up. There is a kind of block on putting up motorway signs at the moment though. From what I've been told the County are trying to cut back on over cluttering the motorway. |

Re: No Sign
why would you need a sign on the M65, it's the people of accrington that need to get off their backside's and get down the crown ground

Back on thread. To my knowledge the crowds aren't boosted for any of the clubs that currently have them. Personally can't see it would make any difference at all |
Re: No Sign
It probably wouldn`t make any difference what so ever but i just think we should have one seeing as most clubs have one (even Atly have one in numurous places around the roads near the airport) we are just the poor relation once again :D

Re: No Sign
We do have brown football signs on the approaches to the ground. For example at the Clayton traffic lights.

Re: No Sign
and at the end of livingstone road lol
|
Re: No Sign
the fact remains every other football league club has a sign from the nearest major road or motorway indicating the direction to the ground, Stanley should have one on the m65. Its not as if that section of the M65 is cluttered with signs.
