Did the Chipmonk win?

maccawozzagod 13-05-2008 22:40

Re: Congratulations

Gibby Chipmunk didn't have to oppose anyone as we had agreed at his appointment that he would retain the position if he wanted.

Full Committee for next Season is:

ChairwomanladyChair Lesley Smith
Vice-Chair Callum Gibson
Treasurer Bill Nuttall
Secretary Rob Russell
Local Membership Secretary Mel Mackie
National/International Membership secretary Neil McGuinness

Between now and the next meeting we are asking people for their ideas on what we should spend some money on next season.

There aren't thousands and thousands to spend so we need to spend wisely.

Should we buy lots of little things such as paint and brushes, bits of plumbing etc?
Should we put a larger lump sum towards something and if so what?
Should we spend the money on advertising runs of various things such as bus adverts, the car window sticker campaign?
Should we invest it in an ISA?

Etc etc. If you have any ideas at all people then please offer them up, all will be discussed at the next meeting on the 9th June.

My opinion on spending money has always been that we want to see something for it and ideally should see a return. Thats why we tried merchandising. For numerous reasons it didn't really happen but what money we did spend on stuff enabled us to have a visual presence at events like the Mela, Carnival and Barrowford show. We aren't a million miles away from breaking even on that venture but still have stock that will bring in revenue over the coming months.

This time round the floor is open as to what we will do.

Congratulations on becoming a chair!

Well done, and good luck.

I'm sure you'll do a grand job.:)

Re: Congratulations

thanks everyone and can only echo what rob has stated above, although sneakily I think he is finding the chair hard to get out of :p

Actually that could sound so wrong, but you know what I mean...

Ideally for the coming season I would like to see us providing something that would be a definite plus for the fans... ok we can't buy a player but we could improve some things

Maybe we go for a season long campaign on raising funds for one larger item that would benefit the fans...ideas??

as rob mentioned along with advertising, working with the club on providing some funds so we could have some kind of marketing budget

After talking with Rob Heys after the vote, I have arranged to go into the club in a couple of weeks to see what kind of shopping/wish list the club have, then along with ideas from fans we can see if any are duplicated and take it to the vote at the next supporters club meeting.

So come on what would you like to see the supporters contributing to.....

Re: Congratulations

I'd like to see supporters contributing to making the FES a fortress next season

Or just a happy, passionate, quirky place to watch football.....

I know miracles are hard even for the OSC

I agree with you entirely jase but how about from a spending point of view, unless we paid people to sing and be happy :D

Re: Congratulations

free travel to away games for osc members this would get more people going to away games and more members for the osc this bringing in more ideas, if not free than discount than.

Willie Miller 13-05-2008 23:10

Re: Congratulations

OSC has never ever got involved with away travel which is a shame
