Maybe One Day ?

Went to Wembley the other week to watch a Conference side in the FA Trophy and they took 25000 fans, whilst there I thought it would be fantastic if Stanley got there via the play offs one day and it could be a sea of Stanley red shirts.

Only if you hand em out free to everyone who lives in the town and pay for em to get there...........................otherwise they'd accomodate your fanbase behind one of the dugouts:tongueout

Sad, but true. I reckon we'd struggle to take 2000 fans if we ever got to Wembley.

They would all come out of the woodwork for this one. Lets face it, both Rochdale and Stockport do not have the fans to make up 35,000 + that were at Wembley last Monday. I suspect we would have a few more than 2,000 who were suddenly Stanley fans for the day only for the following season to see attendances at the FES be slightly raised due to playing at a higher level but certainly not on the level that had been to a play off final. We could not accomodate them.

I know that's normally the case OO, but I don't think Accrington is that interested. The only way we'd get a higher number of fans would be people from around the country showing interest in us. I still believe we'd struggle to see more than 2000 people travelling from Accrington itself.

Re: Maybe One Day ?

Remember the crowds we've had for FA Cup matches? 10801 against Crewe in the second round, played at Ewood, 5700 against Scunthorpe, played at Burnley, 4368 against Colchester Played at FES.

There's no doubt that fans will come out if there's the chance of a bit of glory. And the chance of watching a winning team. Even in our first season back in the league we had 5 or 6 crowds over 3000.

Keep the faith!

There's a difference between popping down the road to see the game and paying to get to London, plus Wembley prices. Maybe if the coaches were free we'd see a bigger turn out?

Could the club organise the allocation and distribution of tickets for more than 2000?

Don't worry there are plenty of stewards at Wembley. As well as the ones Pete pointed out theres usually quite a few blocking the exits :D

I was not thinking of Wembley at all. It was a general question. In fact I had in mind a lucrative cup draw against a leading Premier League team.

I think you might be surprised how many people would crawl out of the woodwork if stanley got to wembley.
I know i would go and i'm a blackburn fan but would be proud of stanley as an accringtonian.
I'm sure their would be many more like me.

dont think that would make much differance, its most fans dream to go to wembly, everyone n his dog would go i reckon. p.s. i ran away to go in 1960, got to london, never saw the match live, couldn't buy a ticket fer 30-bob.:o

I was there at the game cashy, only got a ticket on the Thursday before the final, cost me mum 52 and 6 about 10 times the face value, I was only 13 at the time, bu its something you remember all your life, seeing your team play in an FA cup final at Wembley, even if it was a crap result:D

I actually think that if Stanley did get to the play offs they would take a lot more down there than people would ever dream of, there are a lot of fans who support other clubs Rovers, Burnley, Manky Mancs, who would lend support on the day. I know that most fans of Rovers and Burnley would love Stanley to do well I know I do

You stand as much chance of getting to Wembley in the J Paint Trophy as everybody else.

As for number of fans, we took 13,000 but only get gates of just below 3,000.

Suggest that you'd take at least something like that.....possibly!

BSP teams can't play in the JPT anymore, so if it doesn't happen next season, it isn't ever going to. ;)

Beginning to worry for you TM ...... before you finally get Hal to open the pod bay doors, you ought to try the Samaritans, I'm sure they've got a footy helpdesk :D.

On second thoughts, you'd probably be put on hold while they clear the Chelsea backlog.

Thanks for the concern, but I'm not depressed at all. I'd have to care to be depressed. ;)
