Given that most championship teams adopt the premiership mentality of using weakened teams I suspect there's only one championship team that would be a big enough draw to attract a large crowd to the FES :)

I doubt it would be full though such is the crwod pull of the league cup 1st round.

Slight chance with Preston. Blackpool fans not happy with their club at the moment so that may put a damper on that one :D

Re: Fixtures released

and that's for a knockout that is notorious for its crap crowds. A proper cup match against the Tangerine ones would fill the ground, as would Leeds

Yes they do, they get the top 3 seedings, although I think it's safe to say you won't get Reading if the format stays the same as last year :)

Re: Fixtures released

Carling Cup; last season's format

Round 1 split north/ south and seeded; no Premiership clubs

ie: Accy guaranteed tie v Championship or high finishing 1st Div in the north; eg: Burnley, PNE, Leeds, Carlisle, Sheff Utd NOT QPR, Reading.

Round 2 Open round with non European Prem teams in; ie BRFC and West Ham, Newcastle possibilities!!

All 1 off games, no replays!!

I guess the format will be same again this year.

Also 2 games live on Sky!!
