An intelligent, analytical and well-balanced first post. You are obviously destined to become one of our more thoughtful members.

You obviously feel so strongly about this that you've registered specifically to make this post. Maybe you could now enlighten us further and tell us what's really behind it. Otherwise, why bother?

Hammer obviously isnt aware that four of the youth went on to get pro contracts last season. How many Burnley and Blackburn were there- enuff said.

You, know what, I thought the same when I read this yesterday. I don't usually post on here, Hammer, but your message wound me up so much I couldn't resist.

You may have been asking a pertinant point about why the club's reserve team results aren't better. I would have thought a quick look at a map might indicate that we are competing against bigger and more established clubs. In all honestly, our near neighbours are years ahead of us, I'm sure. Frankly, though, results don't matter at youth level. All that matters is that players develop to a stage where they can step into the first team, as young Robert Grant has done, and hold their own.

How many of the current team have been here a while, I wonder? Perhaps once they're used to playing with each other and in the style the coaching staff want things will improve.

However badly they're doing, you can console yourself that they will all go on to have decent careers in league or semi-pro football. Meanwhile: you keep jogging around Wilsons on a Sunday morning. You idiot.

Re: youth team

The youth team will improve considerably as this season progresses.
We have an excellent crop of 1st years who will be the mainstay of the team once the 2nd years who arent in line for a pro contract become apparent to the management.
Hope I'm right but some of the 1st years ,I have heard, are exceptional.
