Sky Sports Live Score Centre claims John Miles is the key player at the moment. Call me a cynic but if I was in Coley's shoes I would keep Miles on a pay per play contract so we always get the best out of him ;)

Reports from the hallowed turf say the game is pretty dire. No one really taking over, sounds like we're playing really gritty football. I just hope that Wycombe aren't humouring our play for teh first half before coming out and putting three past us without us even noticing. Step it up Accy & attack.

Not the most interesting game to watch, neither team did anything worthy of a win but we put in the most effort by far, if anyone deserved it it was us - can take the positive that if they are top of the league we've got nout to worry about.

Unlucky Stanley today. We struggled to contain Wycombe in the first half but really had a go in the second, although Kenny kept us in it until late on with 4 stunning saves. How he didn't get man of the match is a mystery. They were reduced to breakaways in the second half as we piled on the pressure with only the final ball missing or any convincing attempts on goal. A question of offside about the winner according to the berk on the Radio Lancs report, who said Wycombe showed why they are top of the league. If that is correct then Stanley are a top six team!

They did not deserve that, after Shrewsbury on Tuesday I thought we would get a hammering of Wycombe, to say they are top of the league I think Shrewsbury have a better class of player and probably deserve to win the title more then them.

Unlucky lads, Wycombe do my head in as you say they are ****e and only know how to rob people. There a good defensive unit and just grind there results out.

Anyway hows Higgy doing with you lot? He burst on to the scene last season but has lost his way this year and current 3 wingers ahead of him. Althoght i would like to keep on to him i think there could be a possibility you could sign him up permanent if he makes an impact.

we were very unlucky today they are top of league and you always knew they were going to get that bit of luck for that goal! we played well and desvered to win. kenny played good again keeping us in the game! they didnt really show why they were top of the league as in quality, they hardly had a shot on goal! murdock had an eye infection reported in LT last week! was good to see richardson and grant both warming up! 6 points in 3 games is very good anthoer win on tuesday hopefully!

Could not fault the lads for effort and endeavour yesterday.But for a brief lapse in concentration and a little more luck, we could have won that game.:o

That's the second time I've seen Wycombe this term ( previously saw them at Bury )and I'd have to say if that effort from Wycombe Yesterday warrants a place at the top of the league, then as the saying goes......You're havin' a laugh!!!!:D

Whilst the home record still merits concern, there are enough positive signs to suggest that we can comfortably survive this season.

That said, regardless of if we ( and I believe we will ) achieve survival this term, one has to wonder how we can continue to survive on the gates we are currently getting.

Current home form would probably put some people off, yesterday's adverse weather may have put some people off. Simply put, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that Messrs Whalley, Coleman & Bell can't take the club further,let alone sustain it's current position in the league,without the backing of bums on seats and feet on terraces.

Geographically we're sat between a Premier League and a (aspiring to be Premier League) Championship side. However in the Conference title winning season, gates after Christmas of that season averaged over 2,500. Admittedly a good number of that figure could be attributed to people "jumping upon the bandwagon" so to speak. But it's a worrying fact that,at the moment we can't muster the support that the efforts of the town's side needs to sustain to maintain long term league football.

I just hope that the efforts of all concerned can attract the additional support that the club needs to sustain league football and indeed push on to new levels.:o

A good F.A. cup run this season would go a long way to help the club's financial situation at the moment. I for one will be watching and hoping for a decent draw later on today!!! That said with home form as it is at the moment, it may be a blessing in disguise if we have to play away.:rolleyes:

Anyway, up to Christie on Tuesday and if we can reproduce the effort on display from the last couple of games, then hopefully with Morecambe's current form, we can come back down the M6 with 3 points !!!:D

How many times has Murdock played back-to-back games in the same week?

As for yesterday, well I think we were very unlucky not to get a point. Wycombe are built around a very good, well organised back line, but going forward they're not a patch on other 'leading' teams. They relied on a long ball game and it was a momentary lapse of concentration by an otherwise excellent Kenny Arthur that allowed them the chance to score.

On Football Focus yesterday, Lee Dixon said that top teams seem to have more luck than struggling ones because they never give up believing that they can win a game. I guess that was never more true than yesterday's game.

I think that we've got the basis of a decent team at the FES this season and hopefully some of that Wycombe luck will rub off on us. :)

If anyone had offered me 6 points out of 9 before the Luton game I'd have snapped their hands off. Two wins and a defeat are better than a win and 2 draws.

It's important to get in the faces of sides like Wycombe and not show them too much reverence or respect. We can hold our own with any side in this League and we must not allow a late defeat to a debateable goal to resurrect any complex about playing at home.

wycombe applied the same tactic against barnet - long ball for the majority of the game.
Banret simply sat deeper and played a similar game but more down the flanks.

While the lads worked hard and deserved a point in what was a balanced match, I was dissapointed at how high they where sitting with 10 minutes to go.
In many ways, Edwards fatigue and the fresh legs of their striker was the difference.
