A great idea, but they missed one bit off the programme of events:

1.45-2.45 Creative handicrafts session - Exercise your artistic skills by helping to paint the police control room, then brush up on your woodworking by building a practical, yet picturesque walkway. ;)

disagree K-P, fer me people making suggestions on how maybe summat can be even better,is a good thing in my book, maybe it can, maybe it can't, but it costs sod all to look at things, perhaps thats part of the reason things are as they are,? the day people stop thinking how the clubs plight can be improved, will be a sad day,in my book.;)

We're not going to convert people to our fanbase, so we're going to have to build a new one and this is one way of starting it off.--------- --------- i thought that was a constructive comment, you thought it was finding fault, hence yer response to it? agree with you that people have been saying "Kids,Kids,Kids" fer years so can't see how the comment was finding fault?

Agree - brilliant idea.

Just one important caveat. It should be widely publicised that those looking after the youngsters will all have been CRB-ckecked. I assume, of course, that they have. Parents and grandparents tend to worry about such things.

Revived Red,

On the letter at the bottom it does state that all our coaches are CRB checked and just to re-inforce that, every member of staff working for the community scheme have up to date CRB's :)

I've been in the process of setting this up for a while now and next on the pipeline is a facelift for the Junior Eagles memberships. This will be linked in with the matchday club also. When signing up for the new Junior Eagles membership each child will recieve a bag full of ASFC goodies! Keep an eye out on the fishy site for more details. :)

I was agreeing with TM as we have both been singing from the same song sheet for many years on this subject..

You may want to go back and start again.. you seem to have taken a left somewhere when you should have take a right :)

That's certainly the way I read it. :)

It's great news that something is finally happening. I really hope that it's successful.

Thanks for clearing that one up it was the first question my wife asked when I mentioned it.:)

My who is son is interested in this new venture says he was promised some ASFC goodies this year but all he got was his season ticket, he has seen what we believe is the junior eagles t-shirt but he said it's rubbish, I agree.:(

Not being negative KP just giving my families views.:p

Thanks for that info. Pleased to see that that has been done.

Today my son received a letter from what we thought was the club. After reading about the Matchday Club we thought it might be some info inviting him to join this scheme.
I didn't open it as it was from Stanley and addressed to him but imagine his disappointment when opening it to find he was being asked if he was worried about the credit crunch and to prevent him paying 40% tax on his estate when he dies, he's only 7 for gods sake.
After a phone call to Accrington Stanley FC Financial Services his name has know been removed from their mailing list but I still have to contact the club as I want to know why Junior Eagles details are being passed on in this way or is this part of the goodies that where promised, not happy!!!

This hasn't put him off as he wants to try the Matchday Club if I can convince my wife that not everybody at Stanley is an idiot.

Bagpuss,

I can assure you that this has nothing to do with the Football in the Community Scheme at all, we do not send stuff out on a mailing list at the moment, all our leaflets are distributed through local schools and to the kids attending our courses.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, the Junior Eagles is shortly due for a massive shake up. This morning I've just come out of a meeting regrading the Junior Eagles and what can I say, only I'm well impressed!

It's going to happen within the next couple of months, once the new scheme is setup there will be absolutely no problems and plenty of goodies for the kids. We keep to our promises :)

There will be a big launch of the new Junior Eagles, keep an eye out on the official site for full details.

PS. The matchday club information will all be sent out to the schools in the local area, each child should be bringing a letter home with them by the end of this week.

I guessed that and we don't have a problem with you but with David O'Neill whos name is at the bottom of the letter, why are the club passing on details of Junior Eagles to financial services?
We recieved a phone call from a Mr Eccleston a financial adviser with a feeble attempt at an apology but then made an attempt to justify the letter by saying I could use the service, if I want financial advice I will look for it myself. I got the impression that his phone call should be the end of my compliant but his attitude makes me believe this should not have happened as he made a comment about whether my son was 6 or 7, what that has got to do with anything is anyones guess but I shall be looking into it.
I would like to thank the club for passing on all season ticket holders details who can now expect another pile of junk mail through your doors pretty soon.

Mab did you get the same letter?
