When saturday comes...
Rumours around here, are that Tranmere fans will opt to join the home fans in the covered section of your ground. Hopefully not though.
If the weather is abit bleak, they are going to join you lot in the stands with cover. With the amount expected to follow, this might be not be a good idea. They should of made this tie all ticket for away fans. |

Re: When saturday comes...
They can do that if they like.
They'll stick out like a sore thumb though, as you tend to see the same faces on at Stanley, I don't think they will be able to blend in with there Shell Suits and Mickey Mouser Accents???? We should give em a 90minute redition of 'You'll never walk alone,' like the lads sung at Prenton Park earlier in the season. Something Like this maybe???? "Sign on, sign on With a giro in your pocket And you'll never work again You'll never work again." :jimbo: |

Quite right, Mr K, but as the "Bolton" comment proved that geography isn't his strong point, I doubt that history is either.

Re: When saturday comes...
so mersey-paradise you like taking the **** out of my mate grimps because of his spelling problems, spelling may be one of his problems but at least he can get from home to work and back without getting withdrawal symptons from not finding any hub caps to nick.mind you after saturday you won't have to go to any more f.a.cup matches for the rest of this season.so other cities hub caps will be safe for another season at least.

It may have escaped your attention but your obvious lack of intelligence failed to detect that i'm not from lancashire,i come from a country where the intelligence level of the populace is far superior to that of a bunch of hub cap collectors from a backwater called birkenhead. If your spending most of your time on our message board then your own teams board must be very quiet, perhaps it's time to cut your umbilical cord so you don't miss your bedtime.

Now, it is true to say that Alfred.E. usually enjoys the company of the usually perspicacious and socially-acceptable denizens of Aigburth. But on this occasion avers that he is somewhat surprised that the visitor to our Forum from this suburb of that great City of Liverpool has allowed a perfectly acceptable opening posting to disintegrate into a not-so-clever, grammatically abysmal, and, quite frankly, yawn-producing exchange of useless protestations with the generally friendly and welcoming fellows and lassies who inhabit our Forum. Perhaps, as I often do, I am mistaking his feeble bleatings for an honest attempt at making a little friendly banter with us all....If this is the case then his sad critique of the mode of spelling and the expressing of many of the words from the English language employed by 'our' Grimps' would not confirm my thinking !. As I find myself being in total agreement with my alter-ego, I would suggest to him that if he has nothing else of interest to tell us about the Team which he supports, and their hopes for he game at the FES on Saturday, then he might disappear and find another Forum to infest with his ineloquent attempts at entertaining badinage !!. Assuring this man/ woman ( It is impossible to assess the exact gender from his/her postings!..... Alfred.E suggests that much of what he says could have emitted from the mouth of an 'old woman' )..of a warm welcome to our small but visitor-friendly Stadium !.........Sayonara !! ( My apologies to Harwood Red, Sparkie and all our Ladies for the rather sexist connotations appearing in my final paragraph!) |

Re: When saturday comes...
I go back a long way with Tranmere. I have never seen them do anything but win.
I remember 1976/7 season at Prenton Park when they beat Sheffield Wednesday 1-0. Then 17, I was told to meet up with someone who looked like a well known cartoon character and I found the right person on the terrace straight off! Just before 1979 election I witnessed Tranmere win 2-1 at Hillsborough where they tend to thrive - Russ Allen got one and John Thomas also scored. They won there on their last visit in 2005 and would have stuffed Sheffield Wednesday's play off chances if they hadn't won at Hull in their last away match. Bit later I couldn't resist seeing Portsmouth go to Prenton Park for a Friday night league (!) game. The massive Portsmouth following had to be seen to be believed. |
Re: When saturday comes...
You cant beat friday night football, at Prenton Park. Thats what got me into them.
It's magical! |

BTW I was at Prenton when George Yardley scored against Coventry in a famous victory, also there when Everton put them out in next round. :p |

From a survey of all the available Weather Forecasts it seems that the Coppice End will definately be the place to be tomorrow afterneon ('afterneon'! ...got that one from Grimps ! God bless him.:) ). A mild and sunny afternoon will be awaiting our vistors from Merseyside and an opportunity to top-up those fading New Brighton tans !. This should make for an enjoyable and successful afternoon for ALL the fans of both teams.:kiss8::Banane59: ' ON STANLEY.........ON !!!!!!' |
