Inspired substitution

Big credit to Coley and Jimmy today for making the change of Miles for Proccy at halftime and going all out for a result - and what a change! Fantastic second half performance as the lads passed the ball superbly and really created some lovely movement off the ball as they out played the home side and silenced the crowd. Stone wall penalty as their keeper took Gornell out but the ref bottled it. What a sweet strike from Jimmy to give us our reward and send us all home with a spring in our strides. Rarely seen Stanley play with such fluidity and control - could it be the new coach is schooling them in the finer arts?

don't know if thats the score redraine, but funny ya should say that, i have remarked to wynonie a couple of times as n outsider that goes occasionally, that they seem to be trying to play good football much more this season, rather than just humping the ball upfield, so it may be down to him? its certainly encouraged me to more games this season.:)

There is no doubt at all that Stanley are playing much better football this season, which is head and shoulders better than last season. You can't really tell at home games, but at away grounds where you're sat higher up and can overlook the pitch, you can see just how well organised the team is, especially at the back.
For the first time in ages you can see the players actually thinking about where they are on the pitch and filling in for each other when going forward.

Long may it continue.

Does good football always bring good results though? look at W.B.A. trying to play good stuff but getting stuffed !

W.B.A. just aint good enough whatever style they play slerpy,IMHO. West Ham on the other hand have played good football since i was a lad, they have never really set the world alight, but don't struggle that often, cos they are good enough to remain in the top flight, stanley IMHO are good enough to remain in div2, so trying to play good football is far more pleasing to the eye.:)

But last season we played some horrible football and still got stuffed! I know which I'd prefer.

This season we haven't really been outclassed in any game that I've seen, unlike last season when we were embarrassing at times. This season we're better organised and some of that organisation must be credited to the new coach system. Just look at the defence. OK so we've got better players back there, but we also seem much less exposed because midfield players drop back to cover when defenders press on. Since the Bradford debacle we haven't conceded more than 1 goal per game (9 games) and we've only conceded 2 goals in the last 5 games. When was the last time we were so ungenerous? ;)

they would be promotion candidates if that were the case, but with the lowest finances in the league, support fer mullen just has to do the best it can n personally i think its good enough to keep em in.:)

Everybody around me was saying "Get Proccy off and get Miles on" after about five minutes

It's good to see milesy playing well he's had a couple of off days this season but he has been a bit of a revalation.I've always had the faith that he has the ability to take defences apart and according to the telegraph he got man of the match, but the whole team seem to have a new found belief in themselves that they haven't had in the last two seasons.keep it up accy and lets get stuck into Bury on saturday and get another 3 points on the table.
