A quick look round the site suggests a strong ex-pat participation ?

it doesn't really matter what the game is or signifies (or doesn't would be more appropriate) but its a chance to watch the Reds play somewhere new, somewhere your mates didn't go, somewhere that in five, ten, fifteen years time you can say 'can you remember that time in Spain when Milesy made that full blooded challenge?'

7 people went to Barbados 13 years ago and all of them are still regulars at the FES, it instills a bit more hardcore into you. That particular group of people stood with others on the terrace at the time and very few of those people go anymore.

And yes, the beer and baccy run would be nice as well ...... ~(would even pay for the jolly)

Is that a bit like always remembering what you were doing when Kennedy or Elvis died ? ;)

These things are often not pid for by the club but financed through other peoples benevolence or various contacts. If the contact was made through the Spanish club it could be the majority of the finance is coming from their side.
