Nigel Clough

Does anyone else find it strange that Derby were so keen to make Nigel Clough manager, ok i know it's the connection with his dad but having the same name is where the similarity ends. I mean what exactly has he done to impress, he took Burton to the Conference what 7 seasons ago - and they're still there, top of the table at the moment granted, but it's not exactly an impressive CV is it.
Can't see him lasting very long to be honest but it'll be interesting to see how it pans out.

Must agree with you there accymad, seems like they've signed the NAME,but thats where the similarity ends. He's done nothing special and i doubt he'll ever live up to his dad, when all said and done there was and always will be only one CLOUGHIE.the man was a legend.

It's not bitching it's wondering why he's been given a job at a higher level. Burton got promoted to the Conference before Stanley did and they're still there!

He ain't got no birth certificate.

Re run of Mr Ince I think, his dad told him to stay put when other clubs, Man City etc came in for him in the past. (Got relatives in Burton worst luck!) Always listen to your old man! He will not emulate the success of his dad, RIP. :egged:
