Makes it even worse mad, with the fact that both Rovers and Burnley were away too:(

Anyone know why the Coppice end was closed?

Wynonie Harris 25-01-2009 11:20

Re: V Barnet

Although, yesterday's gate wasn't helped by playing a poorly-supported club from 200 miles away, it's still worrying. There were certainly plenty of gaps on Clayton End and many regulars who stand near us were conspicuous by their absence.

But should we be surprised by this?...one too many lacklustre home performances...one too many times walking disappointedly off the ground have proved too much for some. And this is not helped by the high handed attitude of the club who appear not to care about what the fans think. If this carries on, many of the diehards may be tempted to stay away and we'll be down to three-figure gates.

It's time the club took a long, hard look at itself and made big changes at the top. But, of course, they won't...they'll blame the apathy of the townsfolk...negativity on this messageboard...anyone but themselves...it's a shame, such a shame.

Gordon Reid a long time supporter left after just 7 minutes yesterday, says it all really.

Did not realise it was? Just thought that they had not brought many fans and the ones who came were Southern Softies (sorry southernred)

MCR It is not always just negativity, its just peoples opinions - thats what forums are for!! Do not take it all to heart, lets face it the club are not interested in what we think thats why they will put the seats where they want and sell the players that we(most of us) like.

No - an under-supported club is out of its depth due to the run of Whalley-funded / Coleman-managed against-the-odds successes that got us where we are now. With the exception of his appalling grasp of the art of public relations, Eric is more likely out of funds than out of his depth, and, especially in the present climate, nobody else is likely to throw serious money Stanley's way with no realistic hope of any financial return.

I don't think things are great, I just think they're probably as good as they're going to get, and I'm just enjoying it while it lasts. If that makes me a member of the rose-tinteds, so be it.

Like the last bit Chimer! Agree totally, but if this is a true reflection - money being tight - why not let us know and explain it rather than going on about poor support????
