John Miles has had two efforts on goal - a good move involving Ryan, Mullin and miles ended with the striker blasting over and he just had a overhead kick into Luke Daniels' arms. Courtesy of Observer live text

Looks like 5 - Rochdale (H & A)
Lincoln (A)
Rotherham (H)
Chester (A)

Gave 4 away in 5 games (Chester, Rotherham, Lincoln and Rochdale (away)); only game in that run where we didn't concede one was Grimsby at home, and since they never really got in the area that's no surprise

Only scored one - Bury at home

:o

Craig Lindfield has just come on for Kallum Higginbotham and has gone straight up front for a straight 4-4-2.

If it was for you we`d have every single player that has ever left stanley back! Deary me!

Thought with a full strength squad we might have had a good go against the shrews today and come out with a result!
Still time , bradford scored 3 in ten minutes

Re: Shrewsbury Away (match thread)

How many of those penalties has Edwards given away himself.

Don't get me wrong I think he's an ace player, but a lot of pens do come from his late tackles.

Re: Shrewsbury Away (match thread)

Who was it who shouted for Phil to be put back in the centre with Kieran after Colin's mistakes on Saturday - maybe he should have been careful what he wished for.
And to add to our woes we now have Procky on the injury list, according to todays LET he limped off last night with an Achilles problem.

maybe now turner will be able to go on the wing again unless the new lad starts on the right wing!

Can't fully blame Phil. The Shrews player had skinned Chris King and Phil was trying to cover for him and unfortunately the Shrews player knew what he was doing and went down.

southernred 04-02-2009 17:52

Re: Shrewsbury Away (match thread)

We had most of the possesion for the match, but didn't really threaten them.

IF Jimmy Ryan's wonder strike had gone in, rather than hit the bar and come out, then 30 secs later Chris King loses possesion, Phil clips their player in the box, ref sees nothing BUT "johnny big time linesman" enthuiastically flags for the pen, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A DIFFERENT GAME, 2ND HALF.

But thats football, 1 move, 1 miss can change the game.

Shrewsbury's playing budget is double+ ours, yet they had the breaks we did not!!

In the last five minutes the new lad and PhiL Edwards should have both scored.

Lets be positive, our next 4 games are all winnable:)

I wasn't having a go a Phil Jeff, just saying that some were quick to jump on Colin on Saturday and no matter how good a player is, they're only human and can all make the odd mistake.
