Damn right he did - at least this week's seems to have been on target

Re: daggers game

It was on target but no power and Roberts saved easily, same for Mconvilles one on one earlier. I would have settled for a point before a ball was kicked, but was dissapointed with the result.

Looked out for the score, pretty disappointed with the result as from what I heard we should have won it.Looking forward to my first Stanley game on the 7th, Cmon Accy!

Re: daggers game

Every fan today seemed disapointed with the score line and rightly so, we should of won the game. They did not look like a team in the top 10 anyway, first half we had a couple of shots on target, P.Mullins shot would of been goal of the season had it gone in i do not have a clue where he got that from he just striked it from left coner of the 18 yard box and it hit the corner of the crossbar. We need to practice corners becuase we must of had 8/9 in the first half and not one went into the 6 yard box. The only way we score from a corner is the routine but clubs seem to of picked that up. Second half McConville came on, he played well and i wish he would of put that one on one away if he did that would of rounded up a very good game for him. When Kissock went off he seemed dissapointed to be taken off and i like seeing that in a player shows they have passion for the game. Turner played well when he came on and also did Higginbotham shame he only had a few minutes to change the game. The penalty before bournmouth proccy had scored 12 penaltys in a row, so to miss at bournmouth was unlucky and i think he did right in taking this penalty today as you can see that scoreing 12 in a row he was going to miss at some point. He should of smashed it down the middle and not placed it really. every keeper should be like roberts having a laugh with the fans. After the game i had the pleasure of meeting Macca in the Oaklea was very good he seems a nice person had a talk about the game and the OSC and other things he speaks alot of sense! Luton is now a massive game for us, if we had won today would of took abit of pressure off. Thought the back four and kenny played well for what they had to do. Lets hope for three points on tuesday.

P.s is this post better Macca

Re: daggers game

I enjoyed the game today, if not just for the usual banter with Roberts :D, What I didn't think was needed was individuals shouting abuse at our players, totally out of order in my opinion.

As for the "penalty" myself and Timmins we're both as shocked as each other I think, from where we were stood, it wasn't inside the box. Luton is a must win for us really, if it hadn't been for their points deduction we'd be in serious trouble, let's show em we deserve to stay in this league.

.

What abuse was that then?
I had both hearing aids turned up and didn't hear any abuse.:D
I did hear their wonderful goalie singing "it's all gone quiet over there" to the Clayton end from the edge of the pen area - what a star!

I heard Linfield taking some stick (unduely), plus the usual stick for Proccy (par for the course!) and a bit for Jay Bell................

Re: daggers game

as I walked along the Clayton End I heard one particularly unintelligent chap loudly telling Paul Mullin that he was crap. I also felt like knocking out an old chap who was informing Proccy how useless he was. Proccy had to take that penalty to rid the 'demons' of Bournemouth. Now - like Cav - he'll probably never take another

Too true Macca, I saw the way he (Proccy) grabbed hold of the ball and marched to the spot !!!! Well done that man for having the B***S to do so, many would have not bothered and he has in the past done a sterling job from the spot........

P.S. The stuff about Mullers goes on every match, usually after he has lost the first challenge of the match after winning the other 20 plus defending X amount of set pieces Etc. I feel Macca you do not need me to go on.............. Glad you did not knock anybody out! We need everybody possible on The Clayton End at the moment :D Bring on The Hatters :)

Re: daggers game

The game was dire yesterday and most of our best assists wernt on top of their game like Jimmy Ryan and Kissock! If it wasnt for Tony Roberts i would of gone asleep in the second half!
For those who were saying " why is proccy taking it?" etc , i say , Why not? He hardly ever misses them! He only missed one last match and then negativity comes in , you cannot strip someone of taking a penalty just because they missed one.
One thing that dissapointed me was the stick Linfield was getting , he was running around like a madman however his touch and passing was shockingly bad and for that he got this abuse. At one point at a corner their was one guy shouting " your useless, you couldnt do it at chester" etc and Linfield just looked up in disgust! I dont see why this abuse is given to OUR player, its not going to give him alot of confidence thinking that the players are on his back already!

MCR using commas, ive seen everything now!

Re: daggers game

On the subject of player abuse. Last season Sean Whalley got a lot, which is why he almost always had a good game when we played away, but had no confidence when we played at home. He came with a lot of potential and promise, just like McConville this season, but had it knocked out of him. I hope the new guy, McConville, doesn't get abuse like Whalley did.

We need these young players to come on, show willing and move on, leaving the club with a lot of money in the bank. This is the only hope of surviving/progressing in the league due to the well documented "other stuff".

So please tell these morons to give the young lads support, and not destroy them.

A couple of seasons ago I had to tell one guy to lay off proccy, it was uncomfortable for the rest of the game, as it happened in the first 5 mins, but it turned out ok later, as he never stood near me ever again. I would think it's the same guy stood somewhere else on the Clayton end still abusing players.

Re: daggers game

I am a season ticket holder and I have a right to tell lazy players when they are not putting in 100% effort.
First of all I didnt have ago at Paul or John Mullin nor Proccy. Anyone missing a pen does not need stick but support.
However, I thought any criticism of Lindfield was well deserved.
I have a friend who is prominent at Liverpools academy. He told me stanley where making a mistake going for lindfield as he doesnt like to get involved and is a 'nice weather' player.
At the same time, he thought he might actually apply himself at stanley as it may be his last chance to prove himself in the football league and the harshness of his new surroundings may make reality hit home.
What i witnessed yesterday was a ball watcher, who didnt get involved or run around. The only time he seem to move quickly was in the role of ball boy.
I have nothing against the lad, but at league 2 you HAVE to get involved physically and work your socks off. I cant recall him going in for a single header in the second half or making it difficult for the defnders. He must be the easiest player to mark.
I was no big fan of leighton Mcgivern, but he offered us more than Lindfield and Clarke have this year.

People can have ago at Jay Bell and while he may not been good enough, the manager picks him and he gets his chance. While he didnt look great yesterday, dagenham didnt play with any real wingers so they didnt challenge him to much, and he was playing left back. He seemed to be a second slower than the rest of them on the pitch; not so much physically but more his reading of the game and his distribution was poor.

I really hope lindfield proves me wrong just like John Miles has done this year and it works out for both player and for club. But based on what i've seen of him so far, he wont make it in the footbal league and doesnt seem to intrested in proving himself.

I think we showed again we are much improved this season. Despite the loss of Craney, we are assembling a decent squad who may in the next 2 years have a good go at the play offs.
Our 2 centre halfs played well today.

Our 2 centre halfs played well today.

Linfield ran his socks off yesterday, he was running after lost causes, chasing the ball and generally putting the effort in. However just because he was doing this doesnt mean he had a good game because he didnt! His passing was awfull, he didnt go for the headers, at times he looked scared of putting a challenge in! In ways i feel sorry for him because he wants to do well but hes not been here that long and has to get used to playing of Mullin!

Anything from Lindfield is a bonus after the goal scoring record we signed him on.

That's unfair to my mind. He seems to me to put in plenty of effort and just needs a goal to get himself firing. If Jamie Clarke would put himself about as much as Lindfield does he would be a world beater.
