I think that the accusation of 'assistant managers' son' isn't really particularly fair. We would have King and Richardson in front of Jay but to have lost both of them at the same time leaves us scratching around for a replacement. I would probably have expected Edwards to go to right back and Cav to go across to the left side, but with both Murdock and Williams injured as well ...... we have two sets of four defenders in our 'paper thin' squad - Jay is the extra one on top of that. Whether he is good enough or not I don't know cos I have only seen him play once, but let's have it right he was only filling in.

what i meant was the inference that he was only playing because he was the managers son was unfair. He was only playing because we had four other defenders injured. I should have just said that in the first place really, rather than assuming it read right.

I agree Jeff, but try telling that to the Cowshed Mafia. With a bit of luck, however, they'll be too busy attacking Lindfield to have a go at Jay. I wonder if they received the same kind of support from those around them in the early days of their own respective jobs?!

went the game.
jay edwards was the main culprit.
Improved performance from Lindfield and Bell did ok considering he was at left back.
We lacked genuine pace down the wings, with john miles going missing for long periods.
Paul Mullin and jimmy ryan the main 2 stars of the day.
