Re: Today's game

The later posters on this thread seem to be talking quite a bit more sense IMHO. Yes, it was a dire performance, I think we're all agreed on that, but it came at the end of a great run, which has boosted the team's confidence for the run-in. This one has to be seen as just a "bad day at the office". Players don't play badly on purpose. Chris Turner was missed, yes, but that was no-one's fault, even though it did affect the balance of the side. Incidentally, why attack Rocky and Cav, when the goals came straight down the middle?

My feeling is that Proccy and Ryan were left with too much to do closing down the middle of the park - mainly because (a) Bobby Grant didn't really look up to this level (He's young, though, and could get better) and (b) John Miles - a potential matchwinner - chose to have one of his "disinterested" days - and that is always liable to happen!

However, it's not the end of the world, however poor it was on the day. There's a lot of talent at the club, so let's get behind them and give 100% support for what's left of the season.

If people choose not to buy season tickets for next year, then so be it, that's their prerogative. However, to make that decision on the strength of one performance seems to me to be a little short-sighted.

Surely the last 6 games we played outweigh this game by far! We all knew the run could not last forever! If you wanted the club to do well and progress than surely you would be buying a season ticket! Showing your support for the club no matter how we play on the pitch! Specially when people moaned about the prices, just find excusses not to buy one. Soon as we lose this board is back to the moaning. Am not buying a ticket because we lost and played rubbish! What about the run of wins we had that should sway you enough to buy one. We have been playing some great football this year, with some great players we have and hopefully keep them for next year. Jimmy Ryan, Kenny, Turner, Lindfield, Charnock, Edwards. Next year looks very positive if we can keep the squad together! Yeh we did not play well at all, but where safe for next season, the seats are going in and should be in before May! New owner's are just round the cornor to coming into the club and taking the club into a new direction! New terrace songs have been aired on the terrace this season! :D:D:D We love you Stanley we do!!!

Why? cos it did but if u bothered to read my post carefully, it wasn't just about the teams performance on sat, i STILL have issues with the ground layout & where I am going to be viewing good or bad football, the ownership issue - admittantly nervous who is going to take charge & whether they do keep to a financial standard or better than Eric [better the devil u know sometimes], last thing we all want is to hand over HARD earned cash only to lose it the thought of another 1962 is scary ect etc! Not just my point of view all this uncertainty is questions other people have asked or muttered - even during the Google Page Ranking run @ asda as out & about.

Coley1957, having been very lucky to be part of the bench for the day last season i have seen just how passionate & scary ie coley can shout, blast worse than anyone on this forum so im sure our rants is water of ducks back:D. Plus every forum i have known in the world of footy has many points of view good or bad if ours are bad feel sorry for the whole england team whom at times get full pelt of opinion even in the press, so scheme of things not too bad here. As been said paying loyal fans do want the best for the team & see things from a different angle or perspective, not to hurt the players or management but to help improve - call it constructive critism :D

Supporters cash = better players......

Anyone who CAN afford the season ticket & doesn't buy one is effectively hindering the progression of our beloved club. Unfortunately, our meteoric rise through the pyramid has resulted in us getting fans who can drop the club "on a whim"..... (And that is not aimed at anyone in particular , more the 1,000 that are no longer about!)

Thats why we are down to 1,000 at home........

I would urge everyone who cares about our fine club to continue making it a great place to watch football. Shout from the roof tops to everyone you meet. The more fans feel pride in thier club & are proud to show it the more supporters we will get to join. I know for the last 6 games prior to Lincoln, there hasn't been a better place to watch football or a better set of supporters to watch it with

Stanley FOREVER, not just on Saturdays or when season tickets are cheap!

Coincidentally the lad who sits next to me at work is a big mate of Scott Kerr who got both Lincoln goals and of his younger brother Bradley.

Scott still lives in a village east of Leeds that I regularly pass through.

[quote=Tin Monkey;701047]There's certainly been a lot of over-reaction on the forum to Saturday's result,

Comments like, "I'm not buying a season ticket now because we didn't win", are simply ridiculous!

Hang on a minute! I never said anything of the sort, only that having marched into the shop before the game and handed over the necessaries to Lee, full of optimism due to our recent form, I left the ground bitterly dissapointed. Credit me with more sense than to consider the purchase of a season ticket based purely on one match. Just had to get it off my chest, arriving back after the walk home with steam coming out of my ears.

My work colleague was telling me that Scott Kerr's son Findlay was one at the weekend.

I gather that he has dedicated both the goals to him.
