What would tempt you to watch Stanley?

What would tempt you to watch Accrington Stanley?

I suppose the question is aimed more at people who don't attend Stanley matches at home?

For those who do attend regulary, what is the main motivation for doing so?

Just curious to know other peoples thoughts?:)

With an adult season ticket bought before April 4th, the games worked out at just over £6 per game. The club can't really do better than that.

Did you see any advertisements for the offers flashy?

To just say 'prices' is a cop out.

The main reasons I keep going are 'out of habit' and 'for the social aspect'.

Re: What would tempt you to watch Stanley?

the main reason i returned from 62 is simple- accy had a league side again.:) also prefer the fact i can stand n watch the game, always hated seating. plus have met a few owd mates from way back so its also a social thing, this seasons prices compelled me to get me first season ticket. n i love the fact that though the standard obviously aint as high as premier, those lads would virtually die fer the shirt n its obvious 100% dedication.:)

Re: What would tempt you to watch Stanley?

1. My hometown club.
2. Hardworking, down-to-earth players (for the most part), instead of pampered prima donnas.
3. The craic in the Oak Lea and on the Clayton End.
4. My hometown club.
5. I can stand.
6. Stanley fans are the friendliest people in the world and they don't stand on ceremony...if you're a fellow fan, you're a mate.
7. Oh yes, did I mention?...it's my hometown club.

Re: What would tempt you to watch Stanley?

I go every July, does that count ? ;)

I'm probably not one of those who the question is asked of, because most people may realise I have a more favourite team. :D. I do though like to see Stanley do well and have been to a couple of league games over the past few years.

Unfortunatley the last league game I went to was Wrexham last season and I said then it would take a vast improvement to get me back again.

Seems by all accounts the last couple of months has been an improvement and I might get to a night match next season to test the water again.

No offence meant but it's more grass roots football than the leagues higher up, but that slso which makes it more proper football for those of us who remember the pre-Sky sports days, and how football used to be. They even allowed the game to be played if the pitch was wet in those days :)

only got told about the offer and prices last week shaker, one of the lads that goes to Stanley told me about it, i'm not really into footy all that much but Reece's mates all go to watch them and he's asked me if he can go a few times

Stanley undefeated for all the away games I got to last season.

Home performances and results different story.

Suspect there is where much of the problem lies.

Thats a poor excuse so what if we got new chairman and new management and you came back and we started playing "crap" would you leave again?

We have played th best football i have seen this season and alot of other people also agree with me! Coley and jimmy have improved season upon season! Got a great squad with good team moral. Go watch united you might be happy than as they seem to win everything.

Excatly that run of wins and draws we did! He proberly came back for that than when we lost, went back to eastwood town because they only lost 5 games all season and won 25 and drawn 12. I'd still go stanley whether we where at the botton of the league or at the top! Because i love the atmosphere, Being able to stand, being able to talk to the players/managment, my home town, the friends i have made.

And as has been pointed out, thats only the action on the pitch :) Let alone everything in and around the stands.... :theband: :wave8: :theband:

1,i wouldn't watch the united scum if you paid me.
2,didn't come back when they had the little run of success and i've no intension of coming back, got sick of all the sanctimonious drivel that gets printed on here. You can't put an opinion on this forum without someone having a pop,i personally don't think coleman can take the club any further than he has done,it's my opinion and one i assumed i was free to state obviously i was wrong.with people like MCR ADIM so far up colemans a**e it's impossible to discuss construtive critisism,i sincerely hope accy do improve and go to greater heights but i certainly won't be there to see it.Sad to say it was my decision to go elsewhere and i stand by what i've said, sorry if my opinions offended anyone but they are my opinions and mine alone.

Afrikaaner - it's a shame you see fit to go elsewhere as we need every fan, but, perhaps you were never that big a fan of Accrington Stanley? Perhaps you are just a football fan who knows what he likes or dislikes and will move around accordingly? Regardless, I hope you enjoy your football wherever it takes you.

Back to the original questions that Pendle Red posted, what makes me keep coming back is the atmosphere. It doesn't matter whether it's the Ultras, or the various gatherings before that (there was life before the Ultras ya know!), it's the fact that so few can make so much noise shouting to the listening world that we love the little town of Accrington. I AM ACCRINGTON STANLEY! YOU ARE ACCRINGTON STANLEY! It's not just the owner, or the men in red shirts on the big green thing. WE ARE THE CLUB.

Why bother posting on here if you are not a Stanley supporter? Why don't you just post on your Eastwood Town messageboard. What happens when their manager takes them as far as he can? Who are you going to watch then? Some other obscure team from the lower reaches of non-league football until their manager takes them as far as he can.

well as yer deleting the forum ya will not be able to discuss what ya said about the management, i say, given its common knowledge that stanley have the lowest income in the league, therefore whatever the players n management wages are, will be less than most, given the club only pay out what they can ill afford, i say coley n bell have got the club, way above were they are entitled to be, n i fail to see, given stanleys resources ANY manager that could do better, so maybe you could give us the benefit of yer wisdom n tell us WHO could? unless thats why yer leaving the forum? cos ya can't.
