Kieran Charnock

Peterboro' have transfer listed him today. It will be interesting to see if we are in a position to do anything about it.

He certainly has been very good for us this season in defence and he wants a move back up the north west so hopefully we can buy him but than again its the wage issue and if we have the money to buy him.

With the wage bill cut by 25%, I can't see how the club could make any move for Charnock until the betting shennanigans have been sorted.

Maybe if they find out Cavanagh and Williams are guilty, then once they've been sacked who knows??

Rochdale have just released a decent right-back, but we're living in dreamland if we think that with the reduced budget we can sign top quality, proven players.

It's going to be really hard for coley to bring in good players to add to the good squad we have already. Seeing as no-one has defenalty signed a new contract and we have just let two players go.

way i see it the F.A. aint making coley or stanleys predicament any easier, by not YET sorting the betting Fiasco out, how the hell are they expected to make real moves without knowing the score on that. the F.A. should get off the pot n do their job.:(

In the paper today it says they could be waiting until after the start of the new season to find out if they have been found guilty or not guilty, because of the complications of the matter, meaning they could sign new contracts but with clauses in them meaning if they are fond guilty then they get realesed by the club. Also it says Turner will sign sometime this week on a two year deal aswell as Ryan and Edwards and Kenny have been offered new contracts and o'neil says some of the players will have to take a cut in wages but some players will be on a better wage than before.

All teams in the lower leagues are cutting their wage bills. The players are just going to have to accept that as a fact of life. And I am not referring to Stanley players but to those in all teams. As long as we have a situation in football where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, 'twill be ever thus.

unless I've missed summat by being marooned down south, it strikes me that the boardroom control transfer that was imminent weeks ago is more of an own goal with each passing week. How can JC/JB even think about waving a cheque - unless they've already been told "nowt doing" either way. If the new regime can be more than just a new name on the door, then each passing week until completion will see transfer opportunities missed.

Technically they are both out of contract so don't need sacking, they can just be released, but depends what Coleys view of them is without the scandal - maybe he would have released one or both of them anyway, but now his hand may be forced. The only difficulty presented to us if we were planning on keeping them both do we look for possible alternatives for both positions?
