Paul Mullin
See fishy site

Re: Paul Mullin
Not really that surprised by this after the hasty exit to Bratford and the recent cut in the wage budget. Also the team played well after his departure (not that he made them play badly!) proving there is life after Mullers. Also, any money in today's climate for a 35year old would be a bonus. Thing is , how much would any interested clubs be prepared to offer ?

Re: Paul Mullin
no shock there, can only wish him well, as far as a fee though, too late was the cry methinks.

Re: Paul Mullin
I can understand it. I'm just gutted.

Re: Paul Mullin
In an age when the term professional has been watered down, I can't speak highly enough about the undiluted true pro that we have enjoyed in Paul Mullin. Obviously we are not in the know about the discussions, but I would have hoped a 'free' would reward Paul by giving him maximum choice on possibly his final club as a player. Many thanks Paul and sincere best wishes to you sir.

Re: Paul Mullin
It should free up about £2,000 a week wages

Re: Paul Mullin
Absolutely gutted! Despite reassurances from various people at the club that Paul would be back for next season it now looks like there's little possibility of him coming back and bowing out properly with his much deserved testimonial, in my opinion a sad way for someone who has been such a loyal servant of the club to go.
Good luck for the future Paul. |
Re: Paul Mullin
He hasn't gone yet, if no club comes in for him, he will still be a Stanley player next season, he still has a year on his contract so lets not wave him goodbye just yet. However, if he is to go, how much would the club get for him at 35 yrs old and maybe 1 or 2 seasons left?

Re: Paul Mullin
:( Sorry still cannot get my head around this, we had offers for him and did not sell him (:)) now transfer listed, how much will we get - or is it just the wages???? Either way bad business, after everything he has done for us, he has not had the chance of a testimonial and worse still - and the bit that has really aggrieved me:cursing::cursing: WE HAVE NOT EVEN HAD THE CHANCE TO WAVE HIM OFF AND FOR HIM TO THROW HIS BOOTS, SHIRT AND STUFF INTO THE CROWD:cursing::cursing: This must rank as one of the worst things that Stanley have done - sorry but it's how I feel. It is not an over reaction, but yes it may be sentimental.

Re: Paul Mullin
It says in the Telegraph that Paul couldn't afford to take the contract that the club offered him.
Gives a different angle from the club statement, which in my opinion painted him as being unreasonable. I truly hope I get to see him play in a Stanley shirt again. |
Re: Paul Mullin
If he goes that leaves us with no recognised striker in the squad:confused:
