Coley in good company
John Coleman is in two elite groups of football mangers, he is one of only six who have never been sacked in their careers, the others are Sir Fergie, David Moyes, Tony Mowbray, Mark Hughes, Simon Grayson and Martin O'Neill.
He is also one of only six managers that have been in their present jobs over 5 years the others are Sir Fergie, Arsene Wenger, David Moyes, John Still and Steven Tilson. 928 managers have lost their jobs since Fergie became United manager Coley really is in good company:mosher: |
Re: Coley in good company
are you sure about Fergie not being sacked.
I thought he was sacked from his first job which may have been St Mirren. I seem to remember their chairman on TV saying it might have been a mistake !! |

St. Mirren have been the only club ever to sack Ferguson. He claimed wrongful dismissal against the club at an industrial tribunal but lost and was given no leave to appeal. According to a Billy Adams Sunday Herald article on 30 May 1999, the official version is that Ferguson was sacked So as we all knew anyway Coley is - at pres - better than that bloke in charge of the current Premiership Champions... :D:D:D |
Re: Coley in good company
How many good managers have gone, because the fans and boardroom have panicked, or didn't have the guts to stick by a manager, and give him sufficient time to build. It's been widely reported the Fergie was only one game away from the sack at Manchester United.
It's such a shame that in the last 15 years or so, the money, is all that matters. |
Re: Coley in good company
Newcastle as a recent example!
