How Good Would This Be?

How good would it be to get Newcastle in the Carling Cup 1st Round?:)

Play them at St. James Park w/c 10th August, media interest would be amazing real David vs. Goliath , the have's and the have not's:eek:

I suppose my purpose of this post was to hopefully help lighten the mood a little:cool:

But on a serious note a fixture like that could set the club up for the future, in terms of 50/50 on the gate receipts, sky coverage, merchandise:)

Plus putting the eyes of the footballing world on little ol Accy:theband:

At Least Dreams cost nowt:)

I will have a bit of that Pendle! In fact I would love a bit of that!

Looking at it there are quite a few juicy looking ties we could land on. Leeds, Southampton, Charlton, but as you say the real deal would be Castle.

Think it's a safe bet you won't get Southampton or Charlton ;)

I think the draw takes place at 10am Tuesday 16th June. Let's hope it's a good one.

Shall we bet him £1m that we don't get Southampton or Charlton in the 1st round?

Does it matter who we get in the first round, seeded or unseeded. Either way, we aint gonna get a huge crowd for this trophy unless by some miracle we do what Burnley did last season and get to the semi's. Fat chance of that.
