Asfc & me
At the last OSC meeting, I brought along a document called ASFC & ME which was basically my idea of how various parties could come together for the greater cause of the Club.
These are only my ideas and are open to discussion, it was the intention at the time of drawing up ideas that the Supporters Club could perhaps pick through and maybe take some forward? In light of the last few days it maybe now more apt than ever:confused: For at least a little discussion and maybe all work for the end goal of seeing not only Stanley survive but going on to flourish:) As I look at it now is maybe a massive ask but everything has to start somewhere:) Aims of ASFC & ME
Who’s Involved Obviously this will only work if everyone pulls in the same direction, but the basic idea is it can be run through perhaps a once a month meeting at the Club bringing together key staff from the Club to include maybe Chairman, Chief Executive, Team Manager, Head of Centre of Excellence and Head of football in the community, supporters, Representitives from Hynburn Council and also key sponsors at the club. To all work together to put a basic framework together of how we can all help each other by pooling ideas, expertise and all working to take Club and Community forward as one for the greater cause “Accrington Stanley” Ideas for raising awareness and fundraising can take several shapes and forms, through leaflet drops, more widespread advertising, special offers at the club, themed days lad’s & dads, ladies day and family day to name a few. Raising awareness through maybe a community day at the club, pre-season come up to the ground see the players going through their paces, whilst at the same time having a couple of other events going on around the car parks by working with the council, question & answer sessions with management & players, making more use of what we have for events in the Lounge and at the Crown, quiz nights, poker nights, battle of the bands, maybe car boots at the club during Summer, sponsored walks, abseils, bike rides the list goes on and on but has to start somewhere? If the Council become involved there could be other projects that maybe could be looked at, that could maybe generate grants e.g. possibility of building a gym or something similar that could be perhaps used by the squad as a facility on certain days and by the wider community on other days with classes being held there, keep fit or even something bigger that could be used jointly for perhaps matchday hospitality and as part of something that could be offered out as a learning establishment? |

Interesting to see you got no response over 24 hours after the post. Maybe everybody realised that the above statement is something most of you have repeatedly asked for and it's never happened, resulting in a great deal of apathy ? |

Re: Asfc & me
the truth is that we do all need to pull together - what name or banner we go under is irrelevant. From previous experience the club has been reluctant (for whatever reason) to put much effort into anything that is not of their origin, but that has to change or we may as well all give up now.
There is much work to do. |
Re: Asfc & me
The club have got to show some willing to work with the supporters as we know up to now that has not happened, things have to change.

Re: Asfc & me
I have not been on the computer really for the past 4/5 days apart from a quick glance for an update on current issues
I think we could actually call you a bit psychic now eh Google Page Ranking??:D I think anything that brings the club and fans closer together is a good thing but it def needs alot more input than the supporters club could ever give so come on people...thoughts?? |
Re: Asfc & me
Who said this a few years ago?
"We have the full backing a of a flourishing supporters' club which is brilliant. "Financially as well, they do have social functions and they do donate money. "They've just given us over £1,250 from a sponsored walk they had. "It's been absolutely brilliant to be able to ask people to help out with funding that you really need." Here's your answer: Eric the Red |
Re: Asfc & me
posted in 1997, just over two years after he had taken over the club. Things have changed massively for both the club and the OSC in that time.

Re: Asfc & me
Just thought I would push it back to the Top, seems to become more apt by the day?
Makes sense to me:) |
