David O'Neill is a grown man who has bought a majority share in a football club. I'm sure he's more than able to fend off anyone trying to use him as a "puppet chairman" and will want to do things in his own way, even if that means letting Eric think he's still in charge! http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/i...s/rolleyes.gif

I think we’ll have to suck on for a while and see what happens, if Mr. O’Neil has got a pair of his own he’ll soon push Mr. Whalley into the shadows, if that doesn’t happen soon, and then maybe we’re ****ed…If Mr. Whalley is pulling Mr. O’Neil’s string from behind then maybe a Partnership between Mr. O’Neil, Mr. Khan and ASSF will provide the cutting edge to give Mr. Whalley the snip.

Talking of which; how did the meeting go last night……….Answers soon please, before baggy really starts to fret…..

Still trying to catch up with all this since I've returned.

So...on the one hand, we have Ilyas and the FF who are talking about offering a considerable amount of money...on the other hand, we have a new chairman and a football club desperately in need of money...

...so why aren't the two parties talking to each other (or have I missed something)?

In simple terms, EW stated before the DO'N took control that outside money was not required. To be fair to Dave, he has gone on record (Evening Telegraph) that he will talk to all parties although he hasn't said if the money on offer will be used by the club.

Of course! Silly me! Why on earth would outside money be required? We've nearly been wound up. We owe £300,000. We've had to slash our wage bill by 25%. Outside money? Pah! The very idea!

Hasn't The DON stated in some interview that he is bringing onboard with him new backer's?? I may have dreamt it but, I am sure I have seen/heard this somewhere!!!!!:):)

Re: Not yet chairman

The accounts for the year ended 31st May 2008 have still not been filed at Companies House, they were due by 31st March 2009. The statutory fine is now £1500 and if they are not filed by 1st July they will be three months overdue and the fine will be doubled to £3000. If they become six months overdue the fine will be increased to £7500. Why doesn't somebody get their finger out and send in the accounts. Who is going to pay this £3000 fine, the Club no doubt. More money wasted unnecessarily. This £3000 could have gone into the players fund. I can only assume that the reason the accounts have not been filed is that Eric doesn't want anybody to know the true financial state of the Club. I have heard that he said "No balance sheet is better than a bad balance sheet"

I would just like to add, cheers Eric for taking the club forward but now it is time to quit the club for good before he drives away the last few remaining supporters with his outspoken and critical attitude towards his staff and supporters of the club.

Cheers for that Oggy :) Just on the Chester City thing, how does that work if CC go up or AS go down  Is there not a possibility of conflicting interests?????

If you are referring to EW expressing an interest in CC then I am pretty sure he would have to relinquish all shares in AS only if he were to become a shareholder in CC.
