Eric Chester City

Not sure if this has been posted

CHESTER City could make an announcement next week about the possibility of ex-Stanley chairman Eric Whalley linking up with the Blue Square Premier club.
Chester owner Stephen Vaughan revealed that Whalley, who stepped down as Reds chairman last month, has expressed an interest to work alongside him at the Deva Stadium.
It’s believed Whalley, who was the major shareholder with 52 per cent shares in the Reds, will give up all his shares - he was expected to keep 10 per cent - when Dave O’Neill’s long awaited takeover of Stanley goes through this week.
It was meant to happen on Wednesday but it’s believed the contracts will be finalised by the end of the week and signed off to give businessman O’Neill all Whalley’s shares.

Sad news, especially for their fans, but the Beeb are reporting that Chester may not be allowed to start the new season after having their licence application refused by the Football Association.

I think under the terms of the 'license embargo' or whatever it is they weren't allowed to fulfill the fixture

It seems that if you ain't got a licence then you can't play. The managing director on the clip on the previous link reckons that it's down to paperwork not being in the right place at the right time and that things will soon be sorted. There's more at More Problems for Chester.

Just can't get my head around the fact that sombody who I've always regarded as Mr Accrington Stanley is now prepared to join that rat SV whose real home is in the sewer.

Doesn't seem right somehow that somebody who has given the best years of his life to your club can just walk away and switch loyalties to form a partnership with that gutter snipe!

What's caused him to even contemplate such a move?

:confused::confused::confused:

to be honest we've only a newspaper report from Chester that he is considering it.

Although rumour has it that every time they came here there was a considerable lock in!

Chester have failed to get their paperwork straight in time to save a money-spinning friendly with a Liverpool XI tomorrow night, and have also cancelled Saturday's match with AFC Telford. The club named former Accrington owner Eric Whalley as a new board member hours before the latest crisis with the local press suggesting the club may have to re-enter Administration to untangle the mess.[BULLS NEWS]

Still find this strange :confused: Still cannot see how a "Stanley through and through man" can get involved with Chester, must be his way of coping with leaving the club.... :confused::confused:

Must be bad when something consumes your life so much that you jump from the frying pan in to an inferno to feed that consumption. For god's sake Eric take up bowling or something if you need a hobby.
