Stanley Store
Anyone know who is looking after the Store now?
The online availability seems very poor - no scarves, no hats, only teddy bears for children, etc etc. The Store is in urgent need of an upgrade, especially if we are talking about increased income streams and non-gate revenue. |
Re: Stanley Store
Looks like things are moving in the right direction now...

Yes, great idea. Let's hope there are more ideas on the way.

Re: Stanley Store
I buy stuff like this, nice one.

Re: Stanley Store
It's also to be hoped that the new, improved merchandising operation are going to make full use of outlets like e-bay, amazon etc!

Great, glad to see the club making good use of ebay, but recent feedback looks a bit dodgy. Hopefully, this will all change now!

I'm more concerned that there is another local supplier knicking our trade :D

Not sure the person who owns 50% of the business would agree with that :p I actually meant the local company who supply them to the club, we couldn't sell them as we don't have a licence for the fixtures. PA sports are very protective of their monopoly :D |

Bump.
It looks as though the answer to my original question is "No-one". I see from the fishy site today that there are bargains to be had in the Store, but no hint of these in the items listed on the website. Disappointing for out-of-town supporters. |

I checked online too but nothing has changed. Rob Heys has been listing some things on ebay so it might end up there. I hope things improve with the online merchandising as in the past I bought things more in hope than expectation.

Still nothing in the 'Online store' via website regarding the 'sale'...... sad that... :(

Re: Stanley Store
Called into the clubshop mid morning on Wednesday of this week and there was nobody there. However, on a brighter note, the article about the new co-chair in the LT today hints at more appointments and another in the next couple of weeks. Could this be somebody to take over running the shop ?

Re: Stanley Store
My wife and I came across from Yorkshire this afternoon to find the shop closed, but the girl in reception opened it for us and we bought what we wanted. She was pleasant, helpful and a pleasure to deal with, so credit where it's due and a big thank you. I only wish I'd asked who she was, so I could have named her on here.

I'm also happy with the squad Coley has got together. I'm amazed he's managed to do what he's done. |
Re: Stanley Store
things are indeed progressing well. We could do with the stroke of luck, that has evaded us for a while, that will enable the new backroom staff to do their jobs to the max and really get us moving. Each one of them has their work cut out but if they do half of what The Don is expecting of them then I'll be a happy bunny.

Also for those who live a little further afield we are delighted to announce that we do have some sale items now online through our ebay site. Further items will be added in the next few days so be sure to check back over the weekend to keep an eye on the online bargains to be had! |

Nat's currently combining her role as the voice of ASFC on the phone, by dealing with callers during the week. The store will be open on Wednesday evening, to coinside with the Season Ticket evening, staffed by the young lady who helped out on matches last year.:) |

I received one of the invitations last week to the season ticket launch event. A nice touch I thought. Anyway, the letter saied we'd have a chance to use our vouchers in the club shop, so does that mean that the new line of merchandise will be available?

Stanley Store
Tuesday 8th Dec 2009 Late Night Shopping at the Crown Ground Accrington Stanley’s store has increased its trading hours on Thursdays in the run up to Christmas. The Store will now be open until 8.00pm each for the upcoming Thursdays (excluding Christmas Eve) to accommodate the additional Christmas shoppers. There are plenty of home shirts available in all junior and senior sizes plus the option to pre-order XXL sizes, tracksuits, winter coats and rain jackets, all in time to make great Christmas gifts. Midweek visits to the crown ground are also great opportunities to personalise your Stanley shirt with name and number shirt printing available. (Please note this option is not available on match days) For more information about the range of stock available, please contact the club on 0871 434 1968 |

Re: Stanley Store
Just been to the shop for a new top, only a tenner with three vouchers from season ticket and am suited with the quality. the black dugout coats look really good and warm,at 60 pounds they seem a good buy. The young lady was very helpful and courtious.

Re: Stanley Store
Had quite a few in our shop this week wanting Stanley badged stuff. Tried to send them up to the club shop but most don't want to. Think they have lost out on a few sales by not keeping the town centre Ossy Mills stocked up.

You have a devious mind Kiwi John. If only others were as talented, and then acted on what appears to be an eminently obvious move for the good of the club and prospective customers.

Re: Stanley Store
kind of odd , its obvious Lancsdave has a working internet connection , and he seems to have more of a business accumen than the site shop .........two years later after my original post on this site about on-line sales I would still like to buy a "replica shirt " and have it shipped to my grandson in Germany and pay for it with a visa/mastercard card issued in the US ........why is this so difficult ?
P.S, my Grandson is presently playing football wearing an Adelaide United FC shirt , courtesy of another accy web member |

Re: Stanley Store

Sorry if my statement was misleading, we have never been officially told that, we are working on assumptions. Offering the club free space, free staff and and a no-commision sale basis with no take up can only lead to one assumption. Strangely enough the club were more than happy to have conversations about it when we had something they wanted earlier in the season. We are but a minnow in the world of corporate relationships. We couldn't even afford to sponsor a match. However I can assure you that if we ever get big enough to do that it's not the first place we will go to. I know there's a history of bad form between the club and local businesses.I can see why now. Some people will be reading this and calling me bitter but as the person who was working until 11pm on the Friday night before the first game of the season to make sure the team had the correct kit to play in, I do feel a tad annoyed at being used. It annoys me even more when I see lost income to the club ( even if it's only a couple of quid ) yet thousands of people made every effort possible to make sure those odd few quid helped save the club. If the club doesn't want every penny it can earn then all that effort by all those people was wasted. |
