Stanley Store

Anyone know who is looking after the Store now?

The online availability seems very poor - no scarves, no hats, only teddy bears for children, etc etc.

The Store is in urgent need of an upgrade, especially if we are talking about increased income streams and non-gate revenue.

Not sure the person who owns 50% of the business would agree with that :p

I actually meant the local company who supply them to the club, we couldn't sell them as we don't have a licence for the fixtures. PA sports are very protective of their monopoly :D

There are several people on here who are qualified by experience to help but it seams that either your experience is ignored or you dont get paid for your efforts. :)

The club should proofread the artwork themselves and sign it off. That's normal practice in the advertising and printing industries. I proofread for a living, amongst other things (although you wouldn't think it from some of my posts!), and I've offered my services on a number of occasions over the years, the latest being yesterday on this very thread...all totally ignored.

It looks as though the answer to my original question is "No-one". I see from the fishy site today that there are bargains to be had in the Store, but no hint of these in the items listed on the website. Disappointing for out-of-town supporters.

That's a massive improvement then. I had a programme subscription last season and got the one from the last game of the season v Chesterfield on 14th July and only after Mr T got involved. I'll try try my luck with a Burnley one but I would be amazed if they could get it to me in 30 mins :D

I'm almost afraid to say it, but I am happy with the way things are changing at the club. It won't happen overnight, but so many things are finally happening that we've been crying out for, for years.

I'm also happy with the squad Coley has got together. I'm amazed he's managed to do what he's done.

things are indeed progressing well. We could do with the stroke of luck, that has evaded us for a while, that will enable the new backroom staff to do their jobs to the max and really get us moving. Each one of them has their work cut out but if they do half of what The Don is expecting of them then I'll be a happy bunny.

If you were the 3 people (with a lady in a wheelchair?) I'm sure the young lady who served you would have been the receptionist Nataille.

Nat's currently combining her role as the voice of ASFC on the phone, by dealing with callers during the week.

The store will be open on Wednesday evening, to coinside with the Season Ticket evening, staffed by the young lady who helped out on matches last year.:)

Late Night Shopping at the Crown Ground

Accrington Stanley’s store has increased its trading hours on Thursdays in the run up to Christmas. The Store will now be open until 8.00pm each for the upcoming Thursdays (excluding Christmas Eve) to accommodate the additional Christmas shoppers.

There are plenty of home shirts available in all junior and senior sizes plus the option to pre-order XXL sizes, tracksuits, winter coats and rain jackets, all in time to make great Christmas gifts.

Midweek visits to the crown ground are also great opportunities to personalise your Stanley shirt with name and number shirt printing available. (Please note this option is not available on match days)

For more information about the range of stock available, please contact the club on 0871 434 1968

You're "not suitable"? Can't think of any outlet in town which would be MORE suitable. A well-run, attractive outlet staffed by a diehard Stanley fan and another person who is sympathetic to the cause...already proved their worth by what they did in the SOS campaign... a prime town centre location, right by the bus stop for the service up to the ground. It's perfect!

Which numpty made this decision?

Brilliant. Absolutely soddin' brilliant. Closed on Christmas Eve, at the time when shops are full of people looking for gifts. And they can't even buy any Stanley stuff in town because Dave and Stanleymad's store (which I'm sure was open today like any reasonably run retailing outlet) is deemed "not suitable".

Things are improving at Stanley, but they've still got a long way to go!

Sorry if my statement was misleading, we have never been officially told that, we are working on assumptions. Offering the club free space, free staff and and a no-commision sale basis with no take up can only lead to one assumption. Strangely enough the club were more than happy to have conversations about it when we had something they wanted earlier in the season.

We are but a minnow in the world of corporate relationships. We couldn't even afford to sponsor a match. However I can assure you that if we ever get big enough to do that it's not the first place we will go to. I know there's a history of bad form between the club and local businesses.I can see why now.

Some people will be reading this and calling me bitter but as the person who was working until 11pm on the Friday night before the first game of the season to make sure the team had the correct kit to play in, I do feel a tad annoyed at being used.

It annoys me even more when I see lost income to the club ( even if it's only a couple of quid ) yet thousands of people made every effort possible to make sure those odd few quid helped save the club. If the club doesn't want every penny it can earn then all that effort by all those people was wasted.

I was thinking of buying her a new shirt but couldn't find anywhere to get one today :D

...which isn't surprising, as now that Ossy Mills Broadway branch don't have a Stanley section, there's absolutely nowhere to buy our stuff in town. Unbelievable!

In all seriousness, Dave, I think your longer post above well illustrates the lack of commercial acumen that still persists at the club. I hope Ilyas reads this and kicks some backsides!

Dave, great post! You and your good lady, did plenty in our "Hour of need" yet this seems to have been forgotten??? Thanks for what you have done and I hope to see the club, take on board your offer!!!

Quiet day for Mick if he was only running around doing one job :D You would think the sportswear companies would have in-house or sub contract the embroidery to make sure it reaches the club in a finished condition.
