Marcelle Lazarus

Marcelle Lazarus is the new co-chairperson, couldn't find this in any other threads so i presumed people hadn't seen it. The thing i don't get is David O'Neil has taken over erics shares but if he's taking in these loans and extra chairpersons (presuming she's put money into the club) then has he got the money to be chairman? ... some things aren't making sense at the moment. Hope I'm wrong though.

Re: Marcelle Lazarus

I met her at the fans forum, very enthusiastic & approachable, talked to her for a quite a bit about her input altho she couldnt go into too much details which i presume this was it, but quite convinced about her knowledge of football at high levels & that she would be using this to bring stanley upto scratch.

Cheers, SM - sounds very promising! :)

Re: Marcelle Lazarus

You welcome - she convinced me anyways lol, was very impressed with the 'family & friendly welcome feel from the fans, something amiss in a lot of footy clubs that many dont know the person in the next seat:D

Re: Marcelle Lazarus

Dont know about money into the club as to what she has or may of put in herself, but feel her overwhelming knowledge & experience will be the key factor. The DON is a successful businessman but as a footballman he may not be upto speed on how it works professionally ie the ins & outs, promotion etc, something that we have lacked a lot since returning to the league, which has hampered us or we simply misssed the boat. I beleive Marcelle will be the one to counteract that & push the club as a football business agenda than before with the hobby aspect under previous rein.

Used to Frank Martindale but he resigned along with Eric

Re: Marcelle Lazarus

The current vice chairman is Peter Marsden.

Peter lives in London, but is very enthusiasict about Stanley. Gets to most matches, home and away.

He will continue to promote Stanley in the South, as well as using his many business contacts to increase commercial revenues.

Cheers, Mike. She sounds a very enterprising lady...just the sort we need. I wonder if Fonestyle UK will now be sponsoring us in some way?

Fonestyle UK went into liquidation in 2007 and were wound up in 2008, so I don't think they will be sponsoring anybody.

Just out of interest this is part of the announcement on the fishy site
Quote:

Marcelle was introduced to the board this evening ahead of the Burnley game, at a meeting at which the resignations of former club chairman Eric Whalley and director Frank Martindale were officially accepted.
Frank Martindale ceased to be a director on 2nd May 2009 and his resignation was lodged at Companies House on 2nd June 2009 so his resignation must have been accepted in May not last Tuesday.

Despite that, she still sounds promising! :)

I’m not convinced of anything yet; that’s not to say I don’t support current moves behind the scenes but what’s needed by the fan base and required for the long term recruitment of future fans (which is the only chance of financial survival of the club) is action. We need too see sponsors coming on board, merchandise in the shops and online and the Accrington Stanley Brand being just that. A Brand that is recognised anywhere in the world and AVAILABLE anywhere in the world. Currently there’s a mass clear out of old stock; unfortunately I won’t be able to support the club by buying any because I can’t leave my operating area, it’s the same for the expats and our cousins abroad who want it, but can’t get it, because we can see it or order it because it’s not online; Wake up1 It’s the biggest supermarket in the world and the doors bloody closed.

Also; Player sponsorship…. Who are those reserving player shirts; what are the dead lines

I bet you think Rome was built in a day too? Give the club a chance!! For too long we've been sinking in the mire, but there's been some real movement by the club in recent weeks and it's not all going to come good overnight.

To be fair there was a lot of one offs etc which would have taken ages to photograph and list online. I would guess they will hope the various oddments go quick so they can list the ones they have a few of.
