Do we still have money problems??
I was of the view that we had put our recent troubles behind us and I was very optimistic for the future with the signings of Kee, Martin etc.
However, last nite I was told the youth team players are still waiting to be paid their training allowances (£50 a week I believe) from July!! This is a disgrace if we are struggling to find that amount of money surely not all is well??? I hope the new regime get their act together and run the club in the manner it should be run!!! PROFESSIONALLY!!! |
Re: Do we still have money problems??
Who told you ?

Re: Do we still have money problems??
Not sure if that is relevant..........but being a courteous man, it came from one of the parents of one of the players.......
I hope that satisfies your posting criteria!! |
Re: Do we still have money problems??
Just wanted to know if it was a rumour or not. We probably do still have money problems. We owe the taxman £300,000. I hope that the new regime are running things more professionally than the old regime, but if you haven't got the money you cannot pay it out. We should get some income tonight from the Walsall game, but with having to share the gate it won't be much.

Re: Do we still have money problems??
What worries me is that I understood we received funding from the PFA and the Football League for the Youth set up.
If that's the case and we are 'robbing peter to pay paul' we could find ourselves in more bother!! |

The Inland Revenue debt comes first. If we do not keep up the payments we will face a winding-up order. |
Re: Do we still have money problems??
I hear you but my point is I thought this money was paid to us and we did not have to find it through our normal revenue streams!!
I could be wrong!! |
Re: Do we still have money problems??
At the moment I think that any money being paid to Stanley will be going into the pot to pay bills in order of their importance. Hopefully with income now starting to come in via the turnstiles, etc things may improve.

Re: Do we still have money problems??
Eh were on about peoples wages here you can't not pay people who you employ because you owe money  Would it be ok for your boss not to pay you for a couple of month because he owed someone else !!!!! :(

Re: Do we still have money problems??
If i recall most youths at Stanley are not paid by the club themselfs. The club recieves a youth grant of around £600 a week to pay the youth players. IRC the first team are not paid during close season, so i could see the same being for the youth team.
Jiffy Bag, i also question your source as you seem to find out about transfers before the general fan frequently. Same youth players parent ? |
Re: Do we still have money problems??
I have been involved in Lancashire football for 30 years pal!!
I tend to meet a lot of people!! Sorry if that bothers you. |
Re: Do we still have money problems??
As you stated Jiffy Bag the youth set up is funded externally, but presumeably this is money that is paid into the club by a third party. PFA or whoever. Regarding Nickelsons comment that the players are not paid during the close season I an pretty sure that you are wrong.
Having spoken to EW about this previously it makes sense to pay only during the period when your income is at its highest. ie say £25k divided into 40 weeks rather than £25k paid out over 52 weeks. I mentioned to EW that several clubs had instigated this scheme, and he had already spoken to the Chairman of one Lancs club who had introduced it. Dont think it went any further at ASFC though. |
