Five yellows for Lincoln. Stanley none.

And it takes a goal for the BBC to correct the spelling of 'Darran Kempson'.

Attendance 1498 according to the BBC.

And Lincoln win 6-0 on yellow cards.

Good dominant Stanley performance, was a bit tense towards the end but thoroughly good performance - Kempson deserved M.O.M

Well it's been said. Pretty solid performance from Stanley, every player battled for the win which makes it that little bit better.

I thought it when I first saw him play against Radcliffe and it was confirmed today; Luke Joyce is the type of player we've been after for a long time. He'll prove to be the signing of the season I think.

Well done Darran with the goal and fully deserved Man of the Match performance. John Miles would've been an equally deserving recipient.

Well done Stanley. Good win.

Great day at the Crown today, really enjoyed the game. Good display by all the team. If I was being picky I'd say we have to learn not to give the ball away so cheaply and Mullin should really have scored with the header in the first half. All in all though, well happy :)

I think the club should organise some prosthetics to re-shape Mully's forehead. He heads the ball a lot but it hardly ever goes in the right direction ( Last minute on Tuesday night excepted of course!)

Should have scored in second half towards the end as well, but hey ho, we won and I don't care. Great display from all the team, I think Alan Martin deserves a lot of credit for the 2 saves he made towards the end of the match having had not a lot to do all day.Biggest disappointment for me was the crowd numbers, I would have thought after Tuesday's exploits and Burnley being away there might have been a few more on and also the half time draw was number 0794 and I had 0792 and 0793 - bummer.:eek:

Overall a good workmen like performance from Stanley with the defence holding there nerve and keeping a clean sheet. More of the same please on Tuesday against Northampton. Well chuffed with other results around the country i.e. Stoke, Burton Albion and Man City results.:mosher::mosher:

Onwards and upwards

Any news on Billy Kee? He wasn't even a substitute today.

As with the Walsall game, we didn't have lots of chances, but the ones that we carved out were very good ones. Mullin could/should have had a couple and a Stanley player was one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but unfortunately it was Phil Edwards!

Kempson was immense today and never gave Howe a look in. Jamie Clark was, well, Jamie Clark.....lol Can't see him lasting long at Lincoln.

A very good performance once again, but we need to be converting more of our chances or we will pay the price against better teams.

I was pleasantly surprised by the gate. Rovers at home to Man City, Burnley only 50 miles down the road in their first premiership game...I was fearing the worst. Considering there were under a thousand Stanley fans on last Tuesday and today there were almost 1,500 on with around 200 away fans, an increase of over 300 home fans seems a step in the right direction to me. It'll be a long, slow process, winning the fans back, but with the new go-ahead attitude at the club and superb performances like today's, it'll happen! :)

On the strength of the last two games, a fabulous signing - as is Winnard; Joyce looks good, so does Martin; not seen enough of Kee or Gary King yet, but the whole thing feels very upbeat. There's a real confidence in our defence, the midfield are creating openings (but we still give the ball back a bit too much) and once the attack gels, and we settle on the first-choice front pairing (Kee and Symes?), there are going to be few teams who get much at Fortress Crown :)

I got told at the match that he had gone back to Leicester for treatment on his injury, not serious, but whether he will be back for Northampton on Tuesday, remains to be seen, I certainly hope so.

I though Gary King had a decent game today, just didn't quite come off for him. Lets hope he does the business in another game.

lets have an argument as to who is the best summer signing!!!!!

Luke Joyce is the man. Quietly efficient and not the sort who comes into the reckoning for Man of the Match awards - but yesterday he covered every single blade of grass and wasted next to nothing. Get it, give it. Simple philosophy. I believe his mother is called Joyce Joyce in the same manner ass Neville Neville.

Joyce for me at the moment but Martin and Winnard are looking good as well.

Gary King and Billy Kee have looked promising when I have seen them and I hope they will establish themselves.

What a team we have this season! Can't think of one player who had a bad game! Phill Edwards always stands out for me but he never has a bad game thats why he hardly wins MOTM match because he plays that good every game! Winnard, joyce and kempson all played well at the back! Martin played brillant all game yesterday! Bobby grant is playing really good this season, hope he can keep it going! Ryan, Procter, Miles all playing well and King played well upfront as did mullin, i just hope we can keep this squad together for the full season, as losing a few players in january e.g Ryan, edwards Martin, Miles, will have a knock on effect for the last few months of the season! looking foward to tuesday night.

What Coley and Jimmy have done over summer is brilliant! Brought in brilliant players on not a big budget and every player on the pitch played for theier shirt and pride. Seen Cav after the game. Hope we can bring in Lindfield aswell, from lincoln board

Re: v Lincoln game thread

(Quote)I mentioned Clarke during that little midfield round up and I'm still convince that he is a very poor player. To be rated by Accrington fans as "the worst player to ever pull on an Accrington shirt", especially by a team who are widely regarded as one of the worst in the division, says it all about him. In his three games he has shown that he is not only a flop when it comes to crossing, but he quite clearly thinks he's better than he is. The amount of times that he's tried to beat four players at the same time....and fail, reminds me of N'Guessan, but the defence was the N'Guessan actually has skill and the ability to kick a football correctly.(unqoute) Alittle unfair in MHO he wasn't everyones cupper tea but ha who is..

Thats a bit harsh ! As i have seen him play since a junior at man utd and then at blackburn, were he was highly rated by both clubs.
He then had a couple of bad injuries which hampered his progress to the next level.
When fully fit and focussed he could still make a decent centre forward as he posessed blistering pace. His style of play doesnt suit the 2nd div long ball game.
How many players have scored a hat trick for acci recently? bad players dont score hat tricks at any level, never mind pro.
It was intresting they played winnard against him on saturday as they played with each other at blackburn as hes not a right winger and winnards not a left back !

I wouldn't say I am 100% correct on this, but I think the last person to score a hat trick for Accy was one Jamie Clarke in his last game for us on loan from Blackburn and they were the only goals he scored for us in his loan spell. No he wasn't the worst player to pull on a Stanley shirt, and I think what Macca was saying is that he would still get in our team today if he was still here. Dean Winnard may not be a left back, but he has done a mighty fine job up till now. The problem was we got Craig Linfield after Jamie and although he didn't score many (one I think), he was more of a team player and tracked back and made goals for other players. To me, it doesn't matter who scores the goals, as long as the team win as they did against Lincoln last Saturday. I wonder how many people said Darren Kempson would score the first league goal this season? Not many I will wager. Most went for a forward player such as Billy Kee and it was unfortunate that he was injured on Saturday. It was banter from supporters for an ex-player and lets face it, Kempson got enough stick when at Morecambe after being here on loan. Hasn't stopped him coming back because he is respected by the club and by the supporters as a good defender.

sorry Ozzy but Deano's mate/dad/brother  got the right gist of what I was saying. He certainly wasn't the wort player to pull on a Stanley shirt as that honour probably belongs to Justin Jackson, but the squad he would get in is the squad of worst players . He had a lucky/good game against Bournemouth where he showed the promise of what he can perhaps do. But in 10 or so games for us he did ****** all other than run very fast. His touch was bad, his overall contribution to the team was non existent and he posed no goal threat whatsoever. I don't care what promise he showed as a kid at ManU or Blackburn, but at Stanley he showed non at all and he can only be rated off what we saw here. Potential shown elsewhere only makes his Stanley reputation worse a la Justin Jackson/Alan Rogers/Gordon Armstrong/Graham Branch

I think you've had a bit of a brain meltdown overall Ozzy. The reason why a hat-trick was mentioned at all was because the poster knew that Clarke had scored our most recent one. I think Clarke also scored one other goal for us, whilst here on loan. Your misunderstanding of Macca's post has already been covered.......lol Was it a bad night? :D

Clarke won't be at Lincoln long. He may well have had great potential at junior level, but he shows nothing now. Yes he scored 3 goals against Grimsby, but that was pretty much all he did while with us. On Saturday I was disappointed when he was taken off, as I thought Lincoln may have brought on a player that would actually threaten us.
