Side versus QPR

What would your starting 11 be vs QPR,bearing in mind we are struggling to score and are conceding a few?

Providing those on loan are available:-

Martin

Winnard Edwards Kempson King/Richardson(if fit)

Ryan Joyce Proctor Miles

Symes Kee

Sounds like a good 11 to me Shaker :)

Cannot see too many changes to the last starting 11 to be honest.

Or
Martin
Edwards Kempson Winnard
Turner Joyce Ryan Miles Grant

Mullin/Symes Kee

The main changes should be midfield.
Mullin and Symes are very similar so no preference there, for me.

_________joyce

turner ryan____procter miles

_____king_______kee

Given the oppositon and the fact its a cup game I'd give a couple of fresh faces a run and try out this formation properly, without the pressure of it being a league game.

Interesting choice. No height up front so no point in the hoofing game. Although King does seem to get up well and win his share of headers against bigger men.:)

Re: Side versus QPR

From what I've seen and heard of Billy Kee from the last few games is that he keeps going for the same headers as mully so why not see how the lad does in mully's 'role' going for any headers but at the same time encourage the neat passing game too.

The hoofball game was one of the reasons I chose King over Symes when you have a big man up front its all too easy to just wang it one and chase the game. Plus Symes isn't the best at heading the ball especially given his size!!!

Preferably in a skip.:D

Re: Side versus QPR

Suicidal to play 4-4-2 against a quality team so i would go 4-5-1 with symes up front ( due to his size/presence )
Joyce in midfield but not sure about right back. The lad who came on against aldershot did ok

Re: Side versus QPR

Thanks everyone for your input, interesting we all seemed to prefer Winnard on the right and Joyce in midfield, but then again were not the manager who sees them in training!!

I'm with you on this one with one exception, I would put Joyce in Proccies place and King/Richardson at the back. Give the new boys a chance, no pressure at all. if we win, then all well and good, if not, then no harm done.

I don't go with that one, they can be the best player in the world in training but it's what they do on the pitch that matters. Benitez sees Lucas in training but we can all see what he does on the pitch.:(

Well after the Shrewbury game where we learned a few things the hard way, I'd like to revise my ideal starting XI:

Martin
Winnard Kempson (c) Edwards Richardson
Turner Ryan Joyce(vc) Miles
Mullin Symes

Subs: Dunbavin, Murphy, King, Procter, Mullin, McConville, Kee

Not a bad line up Shaker, but a couple of things... I think that Mullers and Symes are all but the same style of player and I would not play them both at the same time - would have Kee in for one of them - and the most strange selection is Turner??? You must know something that Coley doesn't, because he never plays....   :)

Agreed - Grant nowhere to be seen. Kee for Mullin though.

Noticed yesterday how Mullin was merely substituted for Symes in a long-ball-to-the-lanky-man game. If we're going to do that, we might as well have two instead of just the one ;) . I'd like to see Mullin and Symes up front together, I think they'd be a real handful.

...and the subs bench should have read McConville/Grant. Sorry, Redraine!
