Re: vs QPR
Yes, a very good performance from the team, loads of noise from our fans, and handshakes all around afterwards.
Well done Stanley :) A good day out. |
Re: vs QPR
Cheers for that Rob.....I liked this post from Routledge for England:
"for those of you who didnt go last night please read, WHAT A FANTASIC SIGHT THOSE ACCRINTON FANS WERE they start of beating a drum then they all bounce up and down and release balloons never in fifty seasons of watching football have i seen fans like it THEY WERE THE MEN OF THE MATCH LAST NIGHT IT WAS WORTH GOING TO THE GAME JUST TO WATCH THERE FANTASTIC FANS we at qpr salute you your the best ever fans ever I WAS STANDING NEXT TO QPR PETE AND I SAID IF ONLY WE COULD GET 500 AWAY FANS TO BE LIKE THAT he agreed" Legend. |
Re: vs QPR
Once again, I was immensely proud to be a Stanley supporter. The team were magnificent - it really was a team effort from Alan Martin, who did not stand a chance with either goal, to Michael Symes who was a real handful for the QPR defence.
QPR clearly upped their game in the second half after we had dominated the first half but we were always in with a chance until the last quarter of the game and even then, with QPR in the lead, an equaliser was not out of the question. At no stage were we outclassed or outplayed. The Ultras were splendid throughout the match and before the start remained calm despite ludicrous "stewarding" when trying to place their flags. |

Here's a comprehensive set of match reports:

Re: vs QPR
"But as bad as last Saturday was, Tuesday was even worse as Loftus Road welcomed League Two outfit Accrington Stanley for the Second Round of the Carling Cup. Prior to the game, I thought we all expected a backlash from the Forest game and many expected the Super Hoops to put four or five past then team from Lancashire, but how wrong were we?
Stanley came and at times played us off the park. You wouldn't have known which team was from the Championship and which was from League Two. In truth they deserved to be going into the hat for the next round but as we've seen ourselves already this season, you don't always get what you deserve" Sky Sports | Shows | FanZone | Championship Blogs | QPR - Michael | Loan a Simpson |

Re: vs QPR
Magilton in inverview with PFA's Ian Clarkson:
Source QPR Unofficial Fans' Site "Q: What were your thoughts on the midweek victory over Accrington Stanley? A: They out-played us totally in the first half, we picked up second half, we had to because we could not have been much worse. I will stand and defend my players without a shadow of a doubt but that first half you just cannot defend, you simply cannot defend it. It was not good enough. It was not good enough for us, the standards we set, and especially the standards the players set. I will defend them when it is right to defend them but you cannot defend that." |
