Re: vs QPR
Accrington Stanley:
Martin Murphy, Edwards, Kempson, Winnard Ryan, Joyce, Procter, McConville Symes, Miles Not sure which way round Sean & John are, would hope it's the way above rather than having Sean up front. Maybe it's 4-5-1? Who knows... |

Told you about Taarabt! Apparently he was the architect. Well I hope this game will be won/lost within 90 minutes. We need fresh legs for the home game against Shrewsbury which is more than winnable for us. |

Re: vs QPR
BBC Sport
League Two strugglers Accrington Stanley have dominated for long spells at Loftus Road tonight but they haven't taken their chances and QPR have just punished them, with Hogan Ephraim firing the Championship side in front from the edge of the area. |
Re: vs QPR
Cannot believe it, that boy has finally got on the pitch :)
|
Re: vs QPR
About time too - come on Chris
|
Re: vs QPR
Turner on for Ryan.
Billy Kee's just had our first shot of the second half. It went wide. John Miles makes the second - saved. Dean Winnard fires over the bar. Calm down, calm down! |
Re: vs QPR
Dingle's have equalised - time for us to get one as well?

Re: vs QPR
2-0.
At least we won't be knackered for Saturday due to any extra-time nonsense. Well done Reds, sounds as if the lads gave a good account of themselves. Bring on the Shrews. |
Re: vs QPR
Oh ****** it, 2 nil down now - sounds like our lads made a damn good go of it though, play like that on Saturday & it'll be 3 points

Well done Stanley and Symes. Done better than most Championship sides will do against a full strength internationally talented QPR side owned by some of the richest men in the World. Let's see these performances in the League and we won't have our league position to worry about.
My other (Championship) team has crashed out at Port Vale by the same score that Stanley beat them home and away last season. |

Despite the defeat, looks like the boys have done a good job there! Well done Stanley

Fact that our performance warranted a better reward underlined:
QPR 2-1 Accrington Stanley - Football News | SPORTBOX.tv - Nothing Inside But Sport Symes' goal recognised as justifiable consolation by QPR fans as well. |
Re: vs QPR
Well done lads. Tonight's performance was almost unrecognisable from saturday's. Luke Joyce was back in centre mid and looked infinitely more comfortable there, and Symes offered more movement up front, though he didn't maybe win as much in the air as mullin might have done. There were decent chances both ways first half including a ryan free kick that symes (?) nearly followed up, and it was certainly level pegging if not stanley ahead on points at the break.
QPR offered more in the second half with their sub Taarabt on, and stanley were on the back foot a bit more. We gave the ball away a little bit more than in the first half but were still very much at the races until they scored. Once the subs (grant & kee, and later turner) were on we created three or four half chances including a good snapshot from miles, but routledge settled it for QPR, notwithstanding a decent finish by symes for the consolation. I thought symes and joyce were both very good, and turner looked dangerous when he came on. Peter Murphy did well in the first half though he wasn't quite as composed in the second. Jimmy Ryan came off because he was on a card and had been warned by the ref but it also looked like he had picked up a bit of a knock. Not sure about mcconville playing as part of a front two - he has some lovely touches but maybe not burly enough and would be better a bit wider? |

Re: vs QPR
"Stanley looked the better side in the first period and played some neat passing football, with the dangerous Symes unlucky not to score on more than one occasion.
Symes pulled one back for Stanley with just seconds left, firing low and hard into the net, and the away fans sang their team off the pitch knowing they deserved more." Hope this means Symes gets a start on Saturday! |
Re: vs QPR
Against his old club Symes probably cant wait till Saturday!!!
Unfortunatly i could get to this game with not time off work available but would of been another great trip in a few days!! Looks like stanley put up a good account, very very proud!!! |
Re: vs QPR
Oh dear but at least it does sound like they really battled for it... onwards and upwards....well tried lads
|
Re: vs QPR
better n i expected, please continue into sats game, wi symes. good perfomance by all accounts, well done.:)

Re: vs QPR
brilliant effort from the team today and we really should have got more from the game. Some nice touches from the QPR fans after the game as many stayed behind once their team had left the pitch and applauded the Stanley support, even when we walked down the road after the game (still singing) the massed Rangers fans outside the home pub put down their pints to clap us and shake our hands. Big effort from everyone today and it was a pleasure to be there.

Yes, a very good performance from the team, loads of noise from our fans, and handshakes all around afterwards.
Well done Stanley :) A good day out. |
Re: vs QPR
Cheers for that Rob.....I liked this post from Routledge for England:
"for those of you who didnt go last night please read, WHAT A FANTASIC SIGHT THOSE ACCRINTON FANS WERE they start of beating a drum then they all bounce up and down and release balloons never in fifty seasons of watching football have i seen fans like it THEY WERE THE MEN OF THE MATCH LAST NIGHT IT WAS WORTH GOING TO THE GAME JUST TO WATCH THERE FANTASTIC FANS we at qpr salute you your the best ever fans ever I WAS STANDING NEXT TO QPR PETE AND I SAID IF ONLY WE COULD GET 500 AWAY FANS TO BE LIKE THAT he agreed" Legend. |
Re: vs QPR
Once again, I was immensely proud to be a Stanley supporter. The team were magnificent - it really was a team effort from Alan Martin, who did not stand a chance with either goal, to Michael Symes who was a real handful for the QPR defence.
QPR clearly upped their game in the second half after we had dominated the first half but we were always in with a chance until the last quarter of the game and even then, with QPR in the lead, an equaliser was not out of the question. At no stage were we outclassed or outplayed. The Ultras were splendid throughout the match and before the start remained calm despite ludicrous "stewarding" when trying to place their flags. |

Re: vs QPR
"But as bad as last Saturday was, Tuesday was even worse as Loftus Road welcomed League Two outfit Accrington Stanley for the Second Round of the Carling Cup. Prior to the game, I thought we all expected a backlash from the Forest game and many expected the Super Hoops to put four or five past then team from Lancashire, but how wrong were we?
Stanley came and at times played us off the park. You wouldn't have known which team was from the Championship and which was from League Two. In truth they deserved to be going into the hat for the next round but as we've seen ourselves already this season, you don't always get what you deserve" Sky Sports | Shows | FanZone | Championship Blogs | QPR - Michael | Loan a Simpson |

Re: vs QPR
Magilton in inverview with PFA's Ian Clarkson:
Source QPR Unofficial Fans' Site "Q: What were your thoughts on the midweek victory over Accrington Stanley? A: They out-played us totally in the first half, we picked up second half, we had to because we could not have been much worse. I will stand and defend my players without a shadow of a doubt but that first half you just cannot defend, you simply cannot defend it. It was not good enough. It was not good enough for us, the standards we set, and especially the standards the players set. I will defend them when it is right to defend them but you cannot defend that." |
Re: vs QPR
