A Pound A Shirt - for SOS

OK, I have a challenge for you all. Take some photos of your Stanley footballl shirts, post the photos on our website, www.oldfootballshirts.com, and at the end of September we will contribute a pound* for each new Stanley shirt added.

As of today there are 28 Accrington Stanley shirts on the site, how many will there be by the end of the month? All the images must be of your shirts, no images lifted off ebay, or off the club website, just your own shirts.

I've already made a donation via PayPal to the SOS, so this will be in addition. Good luck and we look forward to seeing those shirts, tell everyone you know.

* OK, if you add 308,000 shirts, you'll be OK, but I am going to be a bit stuffed, so I reserve the right to limit this to £100 max. But hey, if you make it to 128 Stanley shirts we'll all be happy

Also, as a Brighton fan myself, I know what it is like when you have a team in a bad predicament. Good luck to you all, I hope my small contribution goes some way to help.

Macca has got all mine :(

To be honest though, most of them are probably on the site already as they were quite common ones. Will a photo of them all together pinned to a pub pool room roof count??? :)

Re: A Pound A Shirt - for SOS

Thanks for your comments guys, much appreciated, who will add the photo of the oldest Stanley shirt?.

Alright Jimbo, there's no problem with duplicates, we list them as "extra" shirts for each season, so make sure you add them, and deffo add the photo of them all on a pub wall.

Is that a pub in Pafos? FYI, oldfootballshirts.com was born in CY, my brother lives in Larnaca, and during a summer holiday in 2006 he and I came up with the idea for the site. He is the webdesigner, that is what he does over there, me, I'm just a football shirt collector.

Re: A Pound A Shirt - for SOS

i've already put most of them on there! there are one or two extras to go on but the list on there is pretty exhaustive of the shirts that have been available to buy.

I'll fill in the gaps over the next couple of days

Jimbo, your shirts are waiting for collection next time you are over.

Hey, we'll accept anything, so long as they are Stanley football shirts, and they are your own photos, I have just added in a category for Ladies shirts, especially for you!

Even if there are duplicates (shirts, not the same photos) we'll add them in. Don't forget goalies shirts count too.

Macca I know you are looking after em - I was just sayin that I didnt have any :(

Oldshirts, My shirts are in Accy at the mo if you hadnt already guessed - the pic of them collected together is when they were all pinned to the roof of the Crown pub next to the ground but they were pulled down for an exhibition and never put back up after it.
I will post the photos later on tonight if you want as the pics are on my pc at home. I see your bro's company is Xmas IT services... heard of em..

Suggest somebody comes down early with a camera on friday. Loads of missing shirts available; grey, blue, green keepers shirts. There's loads of old shirts in the shop.

Lets get photos of the all!! Every pound counts!!:)

maccawozzagod 09-09-2009 22:26

Re: A Pound A Shirt - for SOS

I've put most of my others on now but I still have some more to photograph yet, haven't got around to adding them. A good few match worn shirts and a couple more goalkeepers shirts.

Oldshirts 10-09-2009 06:50

Re: A Pound A Shirt - for SOS

Well, there's a tenner so far, keep 'em coming, can you make it £100?

I'm away for a few days from tomorrow, so I won't be able to validate any new ones after this evening, but don't worry, they'll all get on there.

Re the FIFA 07 shirt, and any others with signatures, special badges etc, do be sure to take a 2nd photo close up, as you can add two photos of each shirt.

I have a photo of the 1970 first Stanley team, will that count for 11?

Oldshirts 11-09-2009 04:34

Re: A Pound A Shirt - for SOS

So long as it's your own photo, then yes, yes it does.

Alright fella, the image you sent seems to be of a much more recent shirt. Post it again and we'll get it on there.

I sent two pictures, one of a 2006/7 shirt and the photo of the 1970 team.

O.K. I sent the team photo for sure this time.

Oldshirts 17-09-2009 11:56

Re: A Pound A Shirt - for SOS

Sorted now, here you go Click here for Accrington Stanley 1970 team photo Certainly is a cracking photo.

So anyway, we're stuck on just 11 new Stanley shirts added since we started this, I must confess, I thought I was going to be in for the full £100 when I suggested it. Shall I pay up the £11 now, or do you think it is worth waiting till the end of the month to see if we get any more :idunno:

maccawozzagod 17-09-2009 13:46

Re: A Pound A Shirt - for SOS

i'd wait a day or two at least (until I put my other 16 photo's on)

and then if you want me to start on team piccies ........

Oldshirts 17-09-2009 14:12

Re: A Pound A Shirt - for SOS

No more team pics please, it is a shirt website ;)

maccawozzagod 19-09-2009 21:49

Re: A Pound A Shirt - for SOS

I'm pretty much done now - just two more pictures to add when I can find the shirts. They are already on but I should photograph the back of them as they are match worn shirts.

I've just put 2 home shirts in, I can't find my blue one, it's probably lingering at the bottom of the wash basket.

Just going to add 6 shirts including Fifa 07 Welch shirt :D

Re: A Pound A Shirt - for SOS

Come on guy's why are there only about 5 different uploaders to Oldshirts site. This is the easiest £100 the club could make.

It doesn't matter if the shirt is already on he has said he will donate a pound for every original photo.

Get your old (and current) shirts out, take a photo with your phone, up load it to your computer then log on to http://www.oldfootballshirts.com/ navigate to the Accrington Stanley page and click on the add shirt button. It couldn't be easier all mine and the kids are on. There must be a load on the fishy site which people have sent so get them sent to Oldshirts. Jeeez the poor guy can't give it away

I hope I get a blade of grass at the Fraser Eagle Stadium with my name on it after this ;)

You've added 46 shirts since I first posted, a few days to go, keep it up :alright:

deeayess 20-09-2009 16:19

Re: A Pound A Shirt - for SOS

I've just added another 8 plus a few of my more obscure foreign shirts to helpout since you are donating for the stanley ones.

Oldshirts 02-10-2009 09:44

Re: A Pound A Shirt - for SOS

Well, I make it 80 shirts on the Stanley page now, taking off the original 28 makes a total of 52 new Accrington Stanley shirts added in Septmeber, fantastic effort! I shall pay £52 into the SOS fund right away.

I do hope it goes to good use, all our collective fingers are crossed for Stanley to get out of this mess. Keep up the good work, and good luck at Chesterfield tomorrow.

Many thanks for your contributions, I hope you have enjoyed looking around www.oldfotballshirts.com

All the best

Phil

Thanks very much Oldshirts this was a great gesture:worthy:.

It still baffles me that we never managed to get you enough shirts to meet your donation ceiling of £100   :idunno::bangh8:. This had to be the easiest donation we could have earned. Well done all those that made the effort tho'. :mosher:

Oldshirts 05-11-2009 18:29

Re: A Pound A Shirt - for SOS

I guess its Congratulations chaps, SOS was worth the effort, so pleased you're still in business. So make sure you all get down to the ground, and drag along some mates, it's bums on seats, feet on terraces that will help ensure this doesn't happen again. Oh, and make sure they all buy a new Stanley shirt eh? :)

All the best for the rest of the season, and don't forget, when you get a new shirt, make sure you post a photo of it on www.oldfootballshirts.com
